Whether you're newly diagnosed ASD/ ADHD and are just looking to process things or you're ready for a major transformation, I want to help.
Have you tried therapy before and felt misunderstood or unsupported? Unfortunately this is a common experience, especially if you're neurodivergent. For a long time developmental conditions like ADHD and autism have been viewed as problems to be solved and many therapists have been insensitive to the unique needs and experiences of people with these conditions. I believe that neurodivergent people deserve the same quality of care as neurotypical folks, and I strive to provide sensitive, individualized, and neurodivergent-affirming care to my clients.

Most of my career has focused on working with adults and teens, specifically dealing with ADHD, trauma, healthy sexuality, and anxiety.
I specialize in adults and teens with trauma with a specific focus on Complex PTSD. I also work with couples suffering from intimacy issues. I work with individuals suffering from anxiety and depression as well. My approach to therapy is to be honest and forward while promoting this in my clients. I believe a non-judgmental environment is very important. My clients like that I am blunt and confrontational in therapy, avoiding trite therapy terms and tailoring sessions to clients' specific needs. I use many different techniques and theories in my practice, though I tend to stay myself in session to remain real and honest.

If you're a music industry profesional, a veteran, a first responder, or one who struggles w/ trauma, PTSD, anxiety or ADHD, you want a therapist who "gets you".
Does "getting up and out the door" seem to be a daily struggle? It's 8am and your mind is "so full" with worry /racing thoughts that you can't remember where you put your own car keys. You are late for work...again. Your loved one asks you why you snap at them and you wish you had an answer. Maybe memories from a painful loss or traumatic experience still haunt you, or you can't sleep. Since you can't sleep maybe you drink/smoke a bit more or scroll your phone all night. You stopped going out/ socializing because you feel alone even around other people. You just want to feel "like yourself" again but forgot who that is...

Hi! My name is Lindsey. I am so glad you are here. A story well told is my favorite piece of the human experience. We all have stories, and at a certain point it is up to us to pick up the pen and decide what our story is and where it's going. Life is both what happens to us that is outside of our control, as well as how we respond to it that is within our control. As your therapist, my hope is to empower you to become the author of your story and provide you with the support, guidance, and resources you need to be able to do so.

I have specialized experience working with Autism, ADHD, Trauma, Parenting, Behavioral Issues, School Issues, and LGBTQIA+.
NOTE: I am currently waitlisting clients as I acquire supervision. Like online dating, it's hard to know from a photo or a write-up if a counselor is going to be a good fit. There is so much to personality, communication style, individual needs, and what people both have to offer each other. The therapy methods used become less important if a client regularly feels "silently judged" or they simply can't stand their counselor's voice. The strengths I bring are transparency, integrity, relatability, vulnerability (oh yes, I'm quite human!), creativity, kindness, flexibility, and a deep desire to always be a student at life.

Sometimes in life it feels like we keep getting in our own way. We keep seeing the same unwanted results but we just can't find the point where we're getting it wrong. It can be hard to tell whether it's learned behaviors from past experiences, symptoms from something like ADHD or anxiety, or even a complete mystery. Taking some time to understand the what (am I doing?), why (is that what I do?), and how (that is impacting what I want?) can lay the foundations for change in those patterns. With a bit of self-compassion and hard work, of course.

I am particularly passionate about supporting people living with substance use concerns, ADHD, PTSD, depression, and anxiety—as well as those who are part of the criminal justice system.
Finding yourself in destructive patterns and using unhelpful behaviors to cope can make you feel isolated and alone. Knowing you are different from others and wondering how to navigate everyday situations is exhausting and debilitating. Being neurodivergent in a world built for neurotypical people can lead to depression, anxiety, trauma, burnout, and substance use just to name a few. With the weight of everything all at once you can feel trapped and hopeless. No matter what you are struggling with, you deserve to be fiercely advocated for and supported in a way that honors your unique humanness.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
