I am a therapist who has been working with adolescents over the course of the last 20 years. This started when I earned my BA in Psychology at MSU. At that time, my goal was to work with teens and change the world - starting in a residential facility. After four years, I realized that my passion lied in doing becoming a therapist and attended Chapman University to earn my Masters in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. During my educational years, I continued to work in different residential settings and then began working in outpatient settings.

I strive to empower my clients to be their vibrant and truest selves! We often feel there is something wrong with us when we struggle without understanding what is driving our behavior and experience. It's never too late to improve our relationship with ourselves. It is normal to fear the unknown when desiring change. However, nothing is better than a life reflecting our values, goals, and dreams. I see my clients as creative, capable and whole. Society tends to focus on the "surface" which often creates an internal chaos and disconnection from that which truly feeds the spirit. The good news is that we don’t have to live this way!

We all feel the tension between what we desire for our lives and relationships and the reality of what is. For me this journey has spanned many years and adventures. Through years of personal and professional exploration, I've learned that growth happens when we embrace both our struggles and triumphs as change agents and learning opportunities. Today, I'm passionate about helping people bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be. I believe in walking alongside my clients as we explore what's possible when you align your actions with your authentic self and unlock your full potential.

Hey there. Welcome to your new chapter of healing. You came here for a reason: If you’ve found yourself struggling to process difficult memories from the past, the vicious “never enough” cycle of addiction, or a volatile relationship with food and body image, then you’ve come to the right place. I create a place where you can be challenged, nourished, and supported. As a psychodynamic therapist, I don’t just focus on what brings you to therapy, but how you got there and what you can do to improve your life.

Therapy is navigating the amazing, terrifying, and awkward experiences that come with being human. It can be figuring out who we are and how we fit into the world, or working toward how we want to fit, or maybe accepting that there are only so many ways we can fit. Therapy is connection, like real human connection, in a world where so much happens behind screens, constant notifications, doom scrolling, small-talk conversations about the weather, and auto-replies of "I'm fine, how about you?". It’s validating that we exist and that we matter, because we want to feel seen, heard, and understood. We want to know that we make sense

Have you or your child experienced a stressful life event and it seems like nothing will be the same as it was before it happened? Death of a loved one, abuse, witnessing violence or another traumatic experience can have a huge impact on a family. You may feel overwhelmed and have a loss of hope, as it feels as if you tried everything but nothing seems be helping you or your child feel better. Sometimes it feels like things are getting worse.

I specialize in working with individuals on their relationship issues, including codependency. I can help you break old relationship patterns, attract a healthy partner, and bring your best self to a new relationship. There is often underlying attachment trauma with codependency. I address this using a somatic (body)-based psychotherapy that heals these wounds at the deepest level. My ideal client is someone who is ready to change, is self-aware and self-reflective - someone who is committed to their own growth and development, and willing to put in the time and energy it takes to create a life they love.

I've been a licensed therapist since 2011. As time goes by I become more confident in being able to describe the type of person who might benefit from working with me. The "ideal" client. This person has likely made multiple earnest efforts at the difficult aspects of life: relationships, careers, meaning of life, struggles with mental health and substances. And an overall bewildering curiosity that comes with understanding this life. A life (consciuosness) granted to us, without us even requesting it. I feel the clients I 'click' the fastest with have an honest humblenesss about them. Our work begins in this humble space.

Whether you are an individual trying to navigate your identity or life transitions, an emerging adult trying to understand your relationship to food and body, or an athlete experiencing performance pressures, injury, burnout or retirement, therapy can be a place for meaningful change. Reaching out for support takes courage—especially when the struggles feel personal, complicated, or long-standing. You deserve a space that is open, respectful, and non-judgmental, where you can speak honestly and be met with care.

I believe therapy works best when it feels human, so I aim to bring authenticity, warmth, and a bit of personality into the room to help create a comfortable space for vulnerability and growth. I work with children, teens, and young adults navigating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, academic and career stress, body image concerns, LGBTQIA+ experiences, and sleep challenges. My approach is integrative, often working through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) lens with clients of all ages, and using Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) with younger clients. For sleep difficulties, I am trained in CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I).

Your 20s and 30s are a uniquely formative time. Expectations around career, relationships, identity, and long-term direction start to feel more real. Maybe work feels stressful or unfulfilling, or you are questioning whether the path you are on actually fits you. This can show up as anxiety, burnout, or feeling stuck. Many of the men I work with are capable and motivated but feel stuck or uncertain about their next step. They want more clarity in their career, stronger relationships, and a better understanding of their emotions.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Denver?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
