Therapists in Denver, CO
You’ve invested in your education, your career, and your growth. Therapy is an investment in the person behind the performance.
Maybe you’re exhausted but can’t slow down. Maybe your mind never shuts off. Or perhaps you’ve achieved the milestones you worked so hard for… and still feel disconnected, irritable, or strangely unfulfilled.
High achievers are often the last ones to ask for support. You’re used to handling things on your own. But therapy isn’t about weakness — it’s about optimization. It’s a strategic space to think clearly, recalibrate, and strengthen the internal foundation that supports everything you do.

The number one thing we hear from people who have tried therapy in the past is this: "I liked my therapist, but I always left our session wondering what I was getting out of it...I felt like I was the only one talking the entire session." This is why the therapists at Thrive take a more modern approach. We are not a "blank slate." We know that our clients are coming to us for tangible feedback and support. In our work with kids, teens, adults, and couples we are collaborative and direct. We use evidenced-backed treatments and specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, eating disorders, life transitions, and more.

You may be struggling with anxiety or depression, feeling depleted, on edge, or disconnected from yourself. You might also be recovering from a relationship marked by manipulation, emotional volatility, gaslighting, or chronic self-doubt. These experiences can leave you confused, hypervigilant, or unsure of your own perceptions. Often thoughtful, empathic, and capable, many people adapt by over-functioning or minimizing harm. You want clarity, nervous-system relief, and a way to rebuild trust in your own inner reality—without being blamed or pathologized.

You may be functioning well, self aware, & holding it together on the outside, but internally feel anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that don't make sense. Many of the women I work with carry the lasting impact of attachment wounds or family-of-origin experiences that show up as overthinking, people pleasing, difficulty trusting others, disordered eating patterns, & challenges with emotional and physical intimacy. As an EMDR Certified and IFS informed therapist, I specialize in helping clients move beyond insight alone through pproaches that work directly with the nervous system and deeper parts of self.

My ideal client is a teen or young adult who may look fine on the outside but feels disconnected, anxious, depressed, or uncertain about who they really are. They might be silently struggling with suicidal thoughts or a deep sense of emptiness, wondering: What’s the point? Will it ever get better?
I work with individuals who have lost faith in life—or in their ability to live a life that feels worth living. My approach is grounded in existential therapy, which means we don’t just focus on symptom relief—we explore the deeper questions beneath the pain.

Hi, I’m Lindsay – I’m really glad you’re here.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by how much in life feels outside of your control, you’re not alone. The truth is, while we can’t change everything happening around us, we can influence how we perceive the world, the role we choose to play in it, and how we respond to life’s challenges. My goal is to support you in exploring those areas so you can find more balance, clarity, and resilience—even in the midst of chaos.
Much of my career has been spent in healthcare settings, particularly supporting families of children with complex medical and developmental needs.

On paper, you have it together. But inside you're exhausted, disconnected, and running on fumes. You've tried pushing through. It hasn't worked. Maybe you've done therapy before and hit a ceiling. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) goes deeper, loosening the patterns that keep you stuck and helping you reconnect with who you actually are. It's not magic, but for a lot of people it's the thing that finally shifts something, enabling long-lasting change, clarity, and lived authenticity.

Hi! Congratulations on taking this first step towards healing which I know can feel overwhelming. Trauma and stress can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and the world around us. I aim to provide a brave, empowering, and validating space to process present concerns and to reconnect with oneself, others, and feelings that you may have been told you cannot or should not feel. Our work together may include processing the ongoing stress of a chronic medical condition, coping with anxiety, recovering from past and/or current trauma, or learning to cope with the loss of a loved one.

The transition to parenthood can be beautiful and brutal at the same time and almost always comes with some struggle. I specialize in supporting the big life transition into parenthood and all of the identity questions that come with it. I help parents work through ways to be better regulated, get more rest (and kids get more sleep too), and find ways of thriving despite the chaos.

I work with adults and young adults who are carrying a lot, even if most people wouldn’t guess it. Many of my clients are navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, burnout or that constant feeling of self-doubt and people-pleasing. Some feel stuck and can’t quite name why. Others are in the middle of big life shifts (moving, graduating, changing careers, becoming a parent, separating or divorcing) and realizing that transitions can shake more than just logistics.
I’m trained in EMDR, which means we don’t just talk about what happened; we actually work through it. My goal is simple: help you feel more steady and more like you.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
