I address issues holistically considering family, trauma, physical health, spirituality and ongoing present factors.
Pain is such a normal part of our day to day lives, but how often do we stop and wonder if maybe there's a better way to live? The good news is that there is! In fact, pain, sadness, and anger are often a signal that something is not right, and once we recognize that, it becomes the starting point for healing and transformation. We do not have to live as things are, there is a hope for something better. I look forward to the opportunity to step into your difficulties, embark on the path of healing, and discover the hope that we all have.

As part of my therapy practice, I use a combination of social work, NLP, Reality Therapy with Spirituality and Hypnotherapy in sessions.
I remember feeling so lost and alone, unsure which way to turn. Who was I? Having 2 young children yet, wanting to die. The pain was unbearable, I could not see any other way out. I cried non stop, dragging myself out of bed in the morning; slept many hours during the day. Not able to see any possibility of change in sight. Why do I hurt? Why am I here? Blaming myself for all that had gone wrong in my life. I was emotionally frozen. No hope! Even the things I loved, didn't bring me joy any more. Does this sound like you? Do you want to be rid of your pain? Are you tired of living this way? IT IS possible to change! I did!

With gentleness, curiosity and humour, I've walked with people at all ages and stages: facing mental illness or trauma, dealing with infertility or baby loss, embracing queer identity, wrestling with spirituality, living with disability. Your story is central, but talking isn't everything: some of our deepest wounds are held in realms beyond words. Because I often work with trauma and embodied pain, I use neurobiology-based somatic approaches. I use Internal Family Systems (inner parts work) and other approaches that engage clients’ creative, imaginative, and meditative sides in the service of healing.

As early in life as I can remember, I have possessed an innate desire to help others. Childhood trauma profoundly impacted me, eventually inspiring a career in education. My goal has been to foster inclusion & empower others, leading to my role as a therapist. I utilize a client-centred, cognitive behavioural & solution-focused approach, embedding holistic practices such as mindfulness & spirituality.

This, combined with my personal interest in spirituality, philosophy, and finding meaning in life helps me assist my clients with focusing on their needs and strengths, and achieving their goals through recovery.
I started counselling with two goals in mind: To help others improve their quality of life and help them become the best version of themself they can be. Having lived experience, I know firsthand what people are going through. I want to be one less professional someone goes to for help and leaves feeling stigmatized, unheard, or worse. I work with a trauma-informed approach and see my clients as individuals who are trying to cope with problems in their life and feel like they can’t without the use of alcohol or drugs. I’ve seen how recovery can create new beginnings and give people the life they want and deserve for themselves.
