Hello! I am Pablo and I have been a psychotherapist for more than 20 years. My experience as an individual and as a marriage counsellor, has led me to develop a technique that creates an environment of freedom and safety to express your challenges. Psychotherapy for me is the possibility to question every option, have the freedom to consider the possible outcomes and consequences of our actions and to have the time and space to decide what can make you happier, prouder and fulfilled. Being fully bilingual (English-Spanish) I have helped individuals and couples in their particular circumstances and challenges in Canada.
I am a Humanistic Behavioral Clinical Psychologist with over four decades of professional experience, specialized in behavior therapy and behavioral medicine. I am dedicated to helping people function and feel better by providing them with individual, couples, and family psychotherapy. I work with persons of all ages and groups of reference; with persons of both sexes presenting sexual disorders, and with all couples in their interaction and intimacy problems, and specialized in performing individualized clinical assessments of children, youth, and adults. My goal as a professional is to help people... Learn to Live Better ®.
As a Registered Master's of Social Worker, I believe through our journey of life we all need positive support and guidance along our path. Over the years, I have worked with a variety of clients who had anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, trauma, family dynamics, couples, addictions and special needs which have all increased my focus and passion to helping others. I specialize in working with children, youth, special needs and families.
Our experiences change the way we think, feel, and act. Difficult experiences make us believe that others can't be trusted, that there's something wrong with us, and that we're not good enough. We feel out of control of our emotions and at the same time detached from them. We're on edge, hypervigilant, and feel like something is going to go wrong. Decision making is difficult, we think others can't be trusted, our relationships suffer, we stop finding joy in things we once enjoyed, and we're haunted by our memories.

I have experience working with a diverse group of clients as well as difficulties that they face. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults who are struggling with developing positive self-esteem, creating and maintaining healthy relationships, and body images issues. I also specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, OCD and depression and assist them in establishing new and improved coping strategies. If you are dealing with a difficult situation, want to change habits/thoughts, are feeling stuck, and so on, I would be honoured to work with you!
Hello, feel free to browse my information and contact me with any questions. I am a Ph.D. Registered Psychotherapist at a quaint Private Practice in Ottawa’s downtown core. Crisis & trauma are my original specialties, calling me to the profession over a decade ago. I see myself make the most meaningful contributions in these areas, as well as in advancing self-growth & self-development, including emotional, relational, professional, somatic, spiritual, or sexual issues. I use proven techniques to manage difficulties in the now, while promoting growth on the whole. I also research, teach & train so that I, too, can continue to grow.
Let me help you sort through your relationship tools and improve your ability to cope with the pressures of daily life, its transitions and challenges. As an individual, couple and family therapist my formal training in counselling theories and techniques, psychology, sociology, human development, physiology and communication along with my practical knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioural, Narrative, Family Systems Theory and Mindfulness will help me to assist you and your loved ones to achieve your interpersonal goals.
The fast-paced nature of our society rarely leaves space for us to explore our thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations. Therapy can help you discover new ways to enhance your self-awareness, improve your ability to cope with stress, and express your thoughts and emotions. Therapy can also provide you with the tools to face personal challenges and help you build strategies that encourage positive change. I am passionate about helping people who feel stuck in emotional patterns and who are seeking out a more fulfilled life.
I am a Clinical and Counselling psychologist, as well as a certified perinatal mental health clinician, with a special interest in prenatal/postnatal mental health. My 12+ years of clinical experience and areas of interests also include mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, post-traumatic stress, chronic pain, relational issues, academic-related anxiety, and inter-generational conflict. I am currently offering virtual sessions, which allows for convenience and comfort, and at times easier accessibility. I offer complimentary 15-minute phone consultations to answer any questions you may have, and provide additional information.
Scott enjoys working with adults, emerging adults and adolescents who are struggling with depression, anxiety, feelings of displacement, anger, hopelessness and experiences of grief and/or loss. He continually holds a high value for vulnerability, spirituality and meaning making in the therapeutic process. He continues to feel honored by the trust his clients share and is excited to see new growth, insight and empowerment.
I firmly believe that we all hold within us the strengths and skills to cope with whatever life brings to our way. Together, in our sessions, we will discover creative and accessible ways to work towards and cope with the changes that you wish to make in the name of positive mental health. I have had the honor of supporting children, adults and seniors discover how the 'drawing out' of their story can heal. Whether you’re a child or a child-at-heart, I look forward to walking with you to support your journey.
I understand that asking for support can be a challenging, yet a brave first step. It isn’t easy to have the courage to say that you need support and I welcome you here. I bring to you experience working in a variety of fields, from mental health, addictions, social relationships, and palliative care. In my sessions, I work from a trauma informed, anti-oppressive analysis, appreciating that trauma can be the basis of many challenges individuals may face. My practice is structured with a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational and solution focused interventions.
I believe that everyone needs support at some point in their lives to be able to get to the place they want to be, or to grow into the person they want to become. Life is not easy, but you don’t need to live it alone. Together we will find solutions for your concerns. This may involve healing from past traumas, overcoming new challenges, or understanding yourself better. If you’re unsure of what is interfering with your happiness, I am also here to help you explore your feelings, situations and undefined difficulties so you can overcome those obstacles.
I believe that no matter what you have been through, there's always a way to move forward and start to heal. Even in the darkest of times, there's a glimmer of hope and a desire to feel at peace and safe. What matters is that instead of giving up, you are seeking help and that means you are getting ready to use external and internal resources to move past what's causing you distress. I take an individualized approach that is tailored to the needs of each client. I believe deeply in providing a non-judgmental atmosphere where you feel safe to be yourself.
Welcome. Looking for creative ways to make meaningful change? Or a safe place to sit with the uncertainty of the moment? Therapy and counselling is a place that can help you voice your thoughts, explore and move through challenges, and grow in your desired direction. Our work together will look at your unique experience, and what is meaningful in your life. My approach is emotionally-focused, neurobiological, and trauma-informed.

In March of 2020 our world was turned upside down. It is beautifully brave to ask for help. Congratulations on making self-care and your mental health a priority. It is my goal to help you to learn more about yourself and to work collaboratively with you towards your individual goals. With great compassion, and a person centred approach, we will create a safe space for you to gain a better awareness of yourself and your best hope for therapy. You will learn that you are not alone in your challenges, and in me, you will find a guide and someone who believes deeply in your potential for growth and change.
At North Durham Professional Counsellors, we provide psychological assessment and treatment services to adults, children and adolescents, couples and families in individual therapy, relationship therapy, and/or family therapy. We can help with a number of mental health issues such as depression and/or anxiety, life transitions such as separation divorce or loss/bereavement, and relationship issues. We also offer rehabilitation assessment and treatment for individuals who have been involved in a motor vehicle accident or have suffered a work-related injury in order to assist with coping more effectively with such traumatic events.
We all want a better life and we are all doing the best we can with what we have. But sometimes we can get stuck in routines, unsure of how to make the change we so desperately want to see in our lives. Sometimes even asking ourselves "what do I want?" can be anxiety provoking and make us feel like we're stuck when we can't answer it. Times like this we can even find ourselves appealing to others' needs and "living for others" all the while feeling like something is missing. Everything we do has some benefit to us, otherwise we wouldn't do it. Getting to the heart of this underlying need can be the empowering change we need.
Firstly, I would like to commend you on taking the first step in getting support! Reaching out for help is not easy and it takes courage to open ourselves up to our vulnerabilities. Life can be tough, and it's easy to become disconnected from ourselves and those we love. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space to help you share your story, understand your needs, grieve your losses, and celebrate your accomplishments. I believe that everyone is doing the best they can and place importance on taking time to tune inwards, create connection, and develop compassion for ourselves.
I help my clients through various challenges and transitions in their personal and professional lives. Most are smart and interesting people who have experienced various levels of success, but currently they could be: 1: Having difficulty accomplishing certain things due to executive functioning challenges such as organization, planning, focus and time management .2: Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unmotivated or depressed and unable to balance conflicting demands and priorities. 3: Feeling stuck and unsure of what's holding them back. 4: Experiencing leadership or relationship challenges
