Life is full of ups and downs. We face challenges everyday and frequently feel overwhelmed by our emotions. We have many wounds inside us that need to be healed from the past. Although it seems painful to look at those wounds, they can be healed by exploring our inner world and emotions.

I am here to help you gain insight and guide you in overcoming your struggles with anxiety, self-esteem, procrastination, people pleasing, assertiveness, relationships, and exploring sides of yourself that have been held back by these struggles. For us to openly bare our innermost struggles and insecurities, we need to be in comfortable, safe spaces. That space is what I strive to create in my sessions. I am here to first and foremost listen to you non-judgmentally; to step into your shoes and really feel what it's like for you to fight the battles you are fighting every day.

Finding one's way in today's world can be very challenging and leave us feeling anxious, depressed, or with just a vague feeling that all is not as it should be. By working with the classic approach of Jungian analysis we can find creative solutions to keeping our uniqueness and humanity in the face of the demands of the external aspect of life, such as jobs and relationships, thereby gaining a greater sense of inner stability and authenticity.

I am registered with the College of Psychologists (CPO) and all of my services include clinical supervision with CPO registered Psychologists, which inform my continued professional development. Research in the area of 'common factors' emphasizes the client-therapist relationship and factors that are unique to you and your life circumstances as important predictors for therapy success, and it informs my approach to support you in creating positive change. I meet clients non-judgmentally, and my approach is uniquely dynamic, collaborative, and solution-focused, with therapeutic presence and authenticity.

When life’s challenges feel overwhelming, sometimes the support of a professional who can deeply listen and offer astute guidance and insight can make all the difference. I believe in a holistic approach to counselling and educate clients on the importance of integrating their mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. My specialty is working with clients who are in their late teens, 20s, 30s and 40s as they navigate various emotional difficulties and transitions in their lives. Depending on what the client deems helpful, I incorporate tools such as Energy Healing, the Enneagram, Meditation, Affirmations, and Inner Child Work.

My therapeutic approach is centred on the client’s needs. Everyone comes from different and unique circumstances in life, and I believe that the therapy process should be unique to each client. For this reason, my approach is warm, judgment free, and draws on a variety of evidence-based therapeutic methods. Therapy can provide positive outcomes for a wide variety of reasons. My belief is that therapy itself can be a healing process. The act of sharing your thoughts, feelings, and worries is an essential step to a healthier and more fulfilling life.

I specialize in art therapy, and am fluent in both Mandarin and English–sessions can be provided in both languages. Through an anti-oppressive, intersectional, client-centered approach, I support individuals navigating relationships, trauma, marginalization, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-discovery, and other therapeutic goals. I believe the therapeutic process is non-linear and there is no one approach or modality for all since we all have unique stories. I walk alongside clients to help find what best suits them while considering their strengths, needs, and goals.

Do you feel anxious often, reliving events from your past or worrying about the future? Perhaps you second-guess yourself, struggling with your own mental wellness, your relationships, or family stress. That’s a miserable way to live, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. Even when things seem like they will never improve, know that you can create and experience a happier future for yourself. You deserve not only to feel better, but to wake up every morning ready to enjoy the day. I can’t make that happen for you, but I can be your guide and show you the way to find happiness for yourself.

Are you struggling with anxiety or depression right now? Does making even a small decision seem overwhelming? Did you find the pandemic more difficult in ways that you never expected? You’re not alone. For many people, COVID-19 brought to surface old issues that they thought that they had resolved and new problems that they never could never have anticipated. Isolation. Job loss. Family conflict. Grief.

I help people open their hearts, live with purpose and create the relationships they truly desire through my Private Retreats and Personal Mentorship. I too have lacked trust, peace, clarity and guidance, I too have felt full of pressure, fear, shame and unfulfilled expectations. I know how hard it can be. Yet I also know the path to breakthrough that, to genuinely heal and let go of whichever constraints we’ve been living with. If you’re willing to go deep enough and notice the teachings life’s giving you, I’ll be able to help you. Monthly availability is limited. Email me to apply. This can be the year where everything changes.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counselling

How can I find a therapist in Toronto?

Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, postal code, or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postal code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
