Life is hard. Perhaps you're a teenager, a young adult, or a parent with young children, but you and your loved one is really suffering: caving in, or acting out, and really, really struggling to be happy. Perhaps there's been some kind of obvious trauma, or perhaps there's been a steadily-growing discontentment with life. Your story is unique, because you are unique. You deserve to be heard in your own words, and not turned into a statistic. You need someone who will take the time to really listen, a professional with a truly personal touch. You need someone to hear you, not judge you.

I recognize that sometimes what we truly need is the space to express ourselves, our emotions and our fears, but this can be both scary and vulnerable. My aim is to create a safe and secure space where we can openly confront fears together and then learn new ways to overcome them. I have an extensive experience with anxiety and depression, bereavement and stress management and specialize with self-esteem work, life transitions and lack of motivation. I have worked in and am comfortable with both short and long-term counselling in both private work and within a group setting.

Many of us form core identity features around significant injuries in our lives and learn to protect ourselves from similar kinds of pain. Over time, these protective features can become so complex that it can become difficult to know who we really are underneath those defences. Trauma, abuse, neglect, loss of loved ones - these are all major psychological injuries that can alter our self-image, beliefs, and life path. Therapy offers a space where these events can be acknowledged with the significance they deserve and allows us a chance to grow into greater integration with our experiences.

In psychotherapy, as in life, we grow through relationship. Our sense of self emerges in meeting the other. I offer a safe and stimulating environment in which to experience your patterns of relating, explore how you make meaning, and experiment with new ways of being.

You’ve been here before. The overwhelm, the crying, trying quick fix solutions, and feeling stuck because this situation is an ongoing cycle in your life. You wish you could find a way to make meaningful changes that stick, to overcome these difficult emotions once and for all. You wish you could find the confidence to express yourself, figure out who you are beyond societal norms and expectations, and stop comparing yourself to others. To feel that you’re enough with or without reaching societal milestones. But you keep doubting yourself and wondering if what you're doing is really enough.

Are you and your partner stuck in the same painful patterns—repeating arguments, emotional distance, or feeling misunderstood despite wanting things to work? Many couples I support feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to repair what’s been hurt. I am a specialized couples therapist with a Master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy from McGill University, one of Canada’s leading programs in relationship-based psychotherapy. I help couples understand their patterns, rebuild emotional safety, and create more secure, connected ways of relating. Change is possible, even when things feel stuck.

I work with individuals and couples to address issues of importance to them, such as identifying emotions and thought patterns, exploring difficult interpersonal dynamics, recognizing behavioural patterns and defense mechanisms, developing & implementing coping skills, deepening self-compassion, and making meaningful shifts in their lives. I am mindful that seeking out therapy and sharing your experiences often feels vulnerable and I intend to create a shared understanding of what may be happening for you in a non-judgmental way.

Taking the first step toward therapy can be challenging and overwhelming! My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can feel comfortable sharing any challenges you may be facing. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. So many of us move through life on autopilot - trying to meet expectations, keep it together, and show up for others - while quietly feeling disconnected or unsure of ourselves.

Discovering you're Autistic later in life is not easy. It is my mission to support my fellow neurodivergent people with Autism, ADHD and AuDHD through individualized therapy. Being Neurodivergent in a Neurotypical world has it's challenges and can leave us traumatized and burnt out. Healing from past trauma and accepting a late diagnosis requires understanding of oneself, self compassion, and the ability to learn to navigate a world that was not designed for you, in a more authentic way. Together we can help you build self compassion, customized coping strategies, and help you feel more at ease with being neurodivergent.

I do individual, couples and group work with adults and youth. (If approached to work with youth, I first do a series of individual sessions with parents in order to process their own histories/triggers their children set off in them.) I am currently providing DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting) therapy and have been shaped by my trainings in EMDR, Brainspotting, parts work (guided by structural dissociation theory), Theraplay, SSP and sand tray techniques. Lenses that guide my practice include trauma, attachment, consent, systems, anti-racist and loving justice. Practice hours are 9-5pm weekdays.

You deserve to feel truly heard. As a clinical social worker with years of experience, I am skilled in helping my clients go from very dark places - feeling muddled, stuck, and alone - to feeling hopeful, connected and content. The basis of that work is the therapeutic relationship: one that is attuned and compassionate, and free of judgement. My clients tell me that they feel comfortable with me in a way they haven't with previous mental health professionals. They tell me that they feel truly heard, as if by a really good friend. Warmth, humour and authenticity are cornerstones of therapy sessions with me.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
