My name is Chloe Novatka. I am an EMDR trained and trauma-informed mental health counselor. In the therapy process, I help guide clients to remain in the present while we look through the window into the past. By doing so, the dots begin connecting and patterns are identified that may be adjusted in order to experience a more fulfilling future. I take a compassionate and patient approach with my clients as we begin to uncover the person whom they were meant to be.

My approach to helping is to join with you in a process of self discovery, acceptance, skills training, behavior modification and healing. I see myself as a guide in your discovery process as we explore life experiences that influence current thought processes and behaviors. You may develop an understanding of how information received from your environment and experiences influences your thoughts, emotions, urges, decisions, behaviors and resultant consequences. You may wish to learn skills to: address distorted thinking, regulate emotions, control urges, make sound decisions, and honor your core values and beliefs. Your therapy is tailored to your specific wants, needs.

I am a License Mental Health Counselor. I received my Bachelor's degrees in Psychology at the Javeriana University in Bogota (Colombia), and my Master's at Stetson University (Florida). I hold a National Certified Counselor certification. I have more than twenty years of experience working with adults in the field of Wellness and treatment protocol particularly in anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and major disorders. My practice focuses on promoting developing and personal growth seeking to encourage integral wellness.

I am currently accepting new clients with a wide variety of goals and circumstances. I aim to create a partnership to help unlock your potential, overcome challenges, strive for success, and manage difficult situations/negative life experiences. Every individual is extremely valuable, unique, and deserving of the support necessary to have a good quality of life, peace, and satisfaction. Kada enjoys working with children, teenagers and adults. Kada graduated with her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from The University of Florida. She genuinely cares for her clients and puts a lot of time and effort into making sure they are getting the help that they need. She takes a trauma-informed approach and uses attachment-based theory in her practice. She also utilizes CBT, Person-Centered and Mindfulness Based Interventions. When working with children, she loves using Play Therapy Techniques as play is a child’s primary form of communication and processing.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois and Florida. My diverse clinical background allows me to work with a wide array of challenges that often bring patients to therapy. My approach to therapy is always grounded in evidenced-based practices. Because every patient is different, one approach does not work the same for everyone. I spend time getting to know my patients and understanding how they see the world, themselves, and others. Breaking unhealthy patterns, improving coping skills, and developing stronger interpersonal skills are a big part of my work with patients.
