I enjoy working with clients who desire to empower themselves to improve their emotional well-being and lives. There is not a "one size fits all" counseling plan, because each individual has their own experiences and stories. I would like to help you be able to use what was learned in session and apply it to your everyday and unexpected events. I primarily work with children and teens, of various needs and backgrounds, to help them work through stressful life events, self-esteem, anxiety, and other challenges.
Oakleaf Marriage and Family Therapy, LLC. provides a professional, holistic counseling experience that is specialized in helping clients develop more useful interactional patterns of behavior in their relationships, overcome their challenges, achieve their personal goals and improve their competence, capacity and productivity.
I am ready to be a part of your journey toward complete wellness. I have responded to my call to bring hope, to encourage, to empower, to bind the broken-hearted, and to help liberate the mind. People are hurting, and they need hope. Sadly, there are many who are hurting because they have lost all hope. People need to be encouraged and know that they are not here by mistake. Those with no hope don’t understand that they have a purpose, and I have made it my mission to help bring hope to those that are hopeless. I understand the connection between mental/spiritual health and physical health.

I am happy to offer Telehealth sessions with a sliding scale at this time of need. I take a person-centered approach to counseling, while utilizing tools from many other types of therapies. I feel it is important to get to the root of an issue by figuring out where it began, process through it to find healing and acceptance, and then use tools and techniques to make specific changes in thoughts and behaviors. I believe setting goals helps to track progress and can be a great motivator. I see counseling as a holistic process and integrate spiritual, physical, & mental aspects into the process, as you feel comfortable.

I am a bilingual Spanish and English Licensed Mental Health Counselor, who enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults. As a parent myself, I understand that raising children can be challenging. When working with children I use play therapy to help children play out their experiences and feelings, and provide a means through which conflicts can be resolved and feelings can be communicated. When working with young children I use Child Parent Psychotherapy, and attachment therapy for infants through 5 years old who are showing mental health or behavioral problems.

Are you feeling stuck—like you keep ending up in the same situations or ding the same things over and over again even when you want something different? Or maybe you are struggling “getting past” a painful experience? Perhaps your daily experience is constantly feeling “on edge,” like you are missing something, or waiting for things to go wrong. Maybe you feel the opposite—you struggle to find your motivation or focus, you are sleeping all the time, or find yourself doing nothing. Maybe you just struggle with feeling “checked out” of life. Maybe you’ve read all the book and blogs and still don’t feel free. There is hope!
