So many people have the same complaints about therapy. Either the therapist only listens with little guidance, or you walk out feeling great, but it doesn't last. So what is it that's missing? Unfortunately, much of therapy today doesn't attack the problem at its core. Therefore, the plug is never pulled on those negative, repetitive, and destructive habits and feelings that drive us from behind the scenes. I have developed a unique, neuroscience based set of techniques to address those issues so you can be free to choose how you want to feel & behave, and live the life you truly desire.

Choosing to begin therapy or consult with a psychologist can be a difficult decision for many people. You don’t know what to expect, you may believe that sessions will be stressful, or you fear stigmatization. If you choose the right professional, you will see that those fears are unfounded. I strive to make therapy a pleasant, friendly, and relaxing experience. We will collaborate to help you reach your goals with respect and optimism.

I work with individuals through their entire perinatal journey. From trying to conceive to throughout the pregnancy and into the postpartum period. Between all the physical and hormonal changes, unsolicited advice, and all the new responsibilities that comes with caring for a tiny human, transitioning into parenthood can be overwhelming to say the least. And that's not including past traumas and/or old narratives that might be rearing their ugly head during this time and potentially interfering with who you want to be as a parent. I'm here to help you navigate this challenging time so you can feel confident in this new identity.

From the outside, you look like you’ve got it all together ... but it feels like a totally different story on the inside. You may be fed up with constant worries and sadness, feeling overwhelmed or on edge. You might not even remember a time things didn't feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you're ready for some relief. You're ready to feel calm. You're ready to feel grounded and at peace with yourself. Most of all, you're ready to rediscover your true confident self. Let's throw political correctness out, get down to business, cut through the BS, and help you solve your problems.

To those around you, it may seem as though you're doing pretty good in life. You do what you can & try to cope with the inevitable ups & downs, however, deep down you find yourself wondering, "What if I'm not doing 'life' right?", "What if I'm really not capable of all this?", "What if I'm not good enough?". You catch yourself worrying about the future & what's to come. And at other times, ruminating about the past & questioning if you've made the right choices. There are times you may fear it's all gonna come crashing down one day. That the foundation on which your life is built could be in danger of crumbling.

Hi. My personal therapy style is to use all of my life learning and apply it to help you achieve your goals for feeling better. Many of my clients are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma or relationship conflict and behavior issues. I have training in substance abuse, hypnosis and Emotional Freedom Technique (an energy psychology technique), plus those therapy staples of Cognitive Behavioral Technique, Behavior Modification and relaxation training. I started in Music Therapy. I see children, teens, couples, families and individuals. I will be expanding to incorporate the Bonny Method of GIM which is trance work for healing.

The foundation of my therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but I also incorporate other methodologies to meet the needs of each unique individual. My approach as a therapist is flexible because I understand the importance of your individuality. My goal is for my clients to feel safe and comfortable when they start therapy whether it be their first time or they have had past experiences. My style is to be interactive and engage with my clients while providing an environment that is safe, non-judgmental and supportive. I sometimes use worksheets, recommend books and phone apps to support the work we do together.

Why is it that we are so much harsher on ourselves than we are on others? Sometimes it’s as if our inner critic has a zero-tolerance policy for ourselves. Even when we’re hurting, our critic might jump in and say “You shouldn’t be feeling this way, suck it up.” It can be hard to manage our pain (or outright heal!) if our inner critic is ruthless and unrelenting. If it feels like your critic is beating you down, I’m here to help. Much of my experience has focused on helping adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, imposter syndrome, trauma, identity issues, and relationship difficulties.

You feel something is wrong, even broken inside, especially when it comes to your love life. Maybe you’ve been through a recent breakup or you’re worried one might be coming soon. You wonder how other areas of your life, such as finances, career, and hobbies are going well, but you can’t figure out how to get your relationships right. Maybe you’ve met many partners but can’t seem to find “the one” or maybe you stay with the wrong partner longer than you should. Depression, loneliness, or anger may be your companions.

Does the past keep sneaking up on you whether that’s in the form of intrusive memories, difficult sleeping (nightmares, trouble falling asleep, or staying asleep), experiencing emotions of guilt or other overwhelming emotions that leaves you struggling for air, a constant low-grade anxiety that keeps you preoccupied, or staying constantly busy so that you can continue avoiding people, place, thoughts or situations. Maybe you keep telling yourself to put the past behind you but that doesn’t seem to work either. With trauma, you need something more even if sometimes you still question whether what you went through was traumatic.

I specialize in working with clients who identify as LGBTQIA+ and would like to improve their mental health and overall quality of life. Many of my clients seek therapy to identify and reframe unproductive thinking, process trauma in a safe and affirming environment, and build the skills to better manage challenges they come across on their personal journeys. I prioritize maintaining a validating and non-judgmental atmosphere to help clients improve their sense of well-being. Additionally, I facilitate client empowerment by highlighting strengths and how they could be used to develop more effective coping skills.

Sometimes life is difficult. No matter how small or big the issue, reaching out for help can make all the difference in helping us to deal with whatever life throws our way. I believe that counseling has the ability to set people free, help them to find peace, reconnect, and can open their eyes to the infinite possibilities there are when we take the time to invest in ourselves, our relationships, and our overall well-being.
