Being deaf, I have a strong desire to help other deaf and hard of hearing people but this doesn't limit me from working with hearing people too. My clients are struggling to fit in in a world that's constantly changing and sometimes seems out to get us all. I really do enjoy working with individuals and groups and seek to have an authentic and warm therapeutic relationship with my clients. Building trust is paramount to successful treatment and my approach is to start with a more open and conversational tone after assessment. The process will focus on feelings and creating a space to foster more sensitive conversations. My own life experiences have guided me to this ‘feeling work’. My life’s purpose is to use the gift for seeing the strengths in people to assist the client in finding their genuine self. Past clients have described me as “caring”, “empathic” and “helpful”.

I am trained in EMDR and am trauma focused. I specialize in anxiety, women's issues, DV & body esteem. Healing can be a beautiful process, both physically and mentally. It can bring relief from pain, restore functionality, and promote a sense of well-being. It can also offer an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery. The philosophy of trauma-informed counseling is based on the understanding that individuals who have experienced trauma require specialized care and support. I acknowledge the impact of trauma on my clients' lives and work collaboratively with them to identify and address their individual needs and goals.

The Antioch Clinic offers low-fee counseling and assessment services for individuals, couples, and families of all ages. We are open over 40+ hours a week Monday - Friday. We offer a low fee, sliding scale (beginning at $0), based on household income to help all those who are struggling economically.

We at Real Life Counseling are a group practice. We believe that everyone deserves counseling tailored to fit their needs. Many individuals seek counseling with me because they have had painful or traumatic experiences that interfere with their ability to live a satisfying life, one filled with meaningful relationships, the ability to experience joy, and the ability to manage life problems skillfully. They often feel stuck and, although they've tried hard, they continue to experience problems in relationships and often suffer from anxiety, depression and the effects of trauma. They want to move forward in their lives with hope, confidence and a sense of purpose.

In life we face many challenges with our emotional health. We question our own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We cannot understand while moving forward seems so difficult. We start to have uncertainty with the present and the future. We begin to question if we will ever feel "normal" again. As your therapist, my goal and greatest reward includes helping my clients overcome their individual challenges, heal from trauma, and improve their overall mental health. I'm David Bradshaw, I am from Washington State, and I currently live in Birch Bay WA. I was born in 1990, I'm an avid reader, I also enjoy Chess, Meditation, Backpacking, Hunting, and Boxing. I'm a bit of a nerd as well, and I build my own desktop computers. I would say the Pasayten Wilderness Area is one of my happy places. I practice Adlerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I work with clients aged 12 and up, including adults and couples. I am also a Clinical Supervisor and can train new counselors helping them earn hours toward their licensure.
