Kylie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is Zest for Life Counseling’s Executive Director. Kylie completed a Masters in Social Work with Utah Valley University and is currently completing a doctor of social work degree with an emphasis in advanced clinical practice with the University of Kentucky. Kylie has spent majority of her professional career working with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, self-harm, sexuality, postnatal mood disorders and insecure attachment within the family unit.

I have long had a passion to help people and am so grateful for the chance to do so as a therapist. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages on an individual basis or in a family setting. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. As a marriage and family therapist I see the value in including family when desired to increase success. I have extensive knowledge working with individuals with drug and alcohol addiction and their families.

I am passionate about helping individuals, couples and families find their path to discovering better mental health, increased communication skills and sense of wellbeing. My education, training, and experience includes the diagnosis and treatment of the following: ADD, abuse, anxiety, depression, marriage and family development, substance use, addiction, pornography use, cognitive distortions, men’s issues, faith issues and various diagnostic criteria. My interest and experience also includes working with high school students, older adults and the acquired brain injury population.

I take a direct approach to treatment. Although eclectic in style, I am most closely attached to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We will focus on the thought processes and behavioral responses that are contributing to the life dissatisfaction you are experiencing. I am solution-focused. The atmosphere will be empathetic, but our goal will be to effect change in your life. We may discuss your childhood, family relationships, or specific losses and grievances, only to the extent necessary to understand what is happening now.

Steve Badgett, LCSW is a Marriage, Couples, Family and Individual Therapist. Steve is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) through The International Centre For Excellence In Emotionally Focused Therapy. Steve works effectively with couples, individuals and families. Available Services include: Marriage Therapy, Individual Counseling, Family Therapy, Child/Adolescent Therapy, Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery, Treating Depression and/or Anxiety/ OCD, Mindfulness Based Practices, and Coaching Services.

Marilyn is passionate about helping people with trauma find peace! Depression, anxiety and other symptoms often accompany trauma. Marilyn has a wealth of life experience that enables her to understand and empathize with her clients, helping them to then communicate with her. Her primary goal is to connect with her clients and build a strong therapeutic relationship.

I have come to understand the needs of individuals, couples, and families as they face challenges which can seem overwhelming.  I appreciate the impact of evidenced based psychotherapies in helping the clients I work with achieve the results they are seeking. I also recognize the power of being present and flexible as needs in treatment evolve.

I have 14+ years experience treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), abuse (physical, emotional, mental and sexual), anxiety, depression, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder, family therapy, autism (asperger's), and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I enjoy working with families and individuals of all ages, especially children and adolescents.

In my years, worked on the roots of mental illness. I understand how traumatic events can lead to negative coping. I want to help provide hope for a light at the end of the tunnel and help the person to find joy in life again. Using empathy and reality, I look forward to teaching you new coping skills, perspectives, and more, as you start healing and growing as an individual or couple.

I have worked with a wide variety of individuals, to include those with mood disorders, dissociative disorders, trauma histories, chronic stressors, and those going through life adjustments including helping families going through divorce, or other high conflict situations. I work with all ages, but specialize in adolescents. I provide individual, couples and family counseling.

Since graduating with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Utah in 1999, I have been actively involved in encouraging clients on the path to healthy change. I believe that every person possesses the ability to solve their own problems. My role as a therapist is to ask the right questions, encourage and celebrate each courageous step in the change process, and provide a non-judgmental space for that change.
