Grappling to keep it all together…
Your family, spouse, career, house, friends, and reputation…
There are so many obligations… so much pressure!
With all the busyness and expectations of life, it’s harder and harder to keep up.
You seem to have it together on the outside, but…
On the inside, you’re chaotic and on edge. It feels like you’re falling apart.
All the activities you used to enjoy now feel like yet another burden.
The people and things that used to fulfill you are now falling by the wayside.
Honestly, you feel so bad that you don’t know how you will make it.
You desperately want to feel good and like you are thriving.

I firmly believe there is a function to our behavior. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not. And sometimes, while our behavior made sense at one time, maybe even to the point of saving our life, it is no longer serving us. We're all just doing the best that we can but sometimes the way we're coping leads to highly negative impacts on our body, mind, spirit, & relationships. A wise mentor once shared with me that our capacity for change comes from our ability (and willingness) to reflect. I seek to empower my clients to gain the tools and self-awareness they need in order to cultivate a sense of peace and personal agency.

You laughed at the right moment. You answered the email. You held it together through the meeting and the dinner and the goodnight. Then you sat in the car alone and felt the inside of you start to roar. The looping thoughts. The replay of a comment from three weeks ago. The wave of reaction you didn't see coming, aimed at someone who didn't deserve it. You tell yourself you should be past this by now. You tell yourself you'll handle it better tomorrow. And still, the same memories surface. The same flare. The same quiet detachment from the version of yourself you actually want to be.

As a queer, trans, & neurodiverse/autistic individual myself, my passion lies in working for and with the LGBTQIA+ & neurodivergent communities. I know all too well the value of working with a therapist whose experience goes beyond the professional and into the personal. Cultivating resilience, navigating complex systems, and bolstering self-compassion in the face of marginalization are highlights of the care I endeavor to provide clients.

I help individuals and couples break the negative thought patterns that drive anxiety, conflict, and self-doubt. Many struggles are sustained by rigid beliefs about worth, trust, and failure. Together, we identify those patterns, challenge them, and build healthier, more flexible ways of thinking.
In couples therapy, I help partners interrupt reactive cycles, take accountability, and rebuild connection through clear, values-based communication. I provide affirming therapy for LGBTQ+ clients.
I focus on anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ issues, couples counseling (including divorce mediation), and faith transitions.

My practice as a therapist is informed by my understanding of systems theory. We are always interacting with our world based on our experiences, and we interpret immediate situations through the lens we developed based on our past. I believe it is important to consider the whole person when they present for counseling, whether coming as an individual, a couple, or a family.

As a trauma specialist, I work with my clients to heal the impact of distressing experiences. Trauma is much more common than most of us would like to believe. If you find that you often feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected you may be living with the impact of traumatic experiences. Together we will get to know your brain and nervous system, and find ways to manage these symptoms more effectively while we simultaneously work to better understand the experiences that caused them.

My clients don’t always realize their symptoms are related to trauma. They usually say something like: “I’m exhausted. I’m tired of living in survival mode and cycling between anxious and exhausted. I feel disconnected from myself and my relationships, and sometimes I feel unloveable. I've talked about it in therapy but not much has really changed." If this sounds like you, you're in the right place. To help people heal from their past, I use tools that go beyond talk therapy and really address the subconscious, the body, and the nervous system- starting with learning how to feel safe and present in your body again.
