I believe we all have the innate capacity to heal and am passionate about walking alongside others as they reconnect with themselves and move towards self-discovery. I strive to create a safe space for healing, balance, and wholeness in all aspects of life's journey. My style is relationship-based, with person centered integration. Rather than treating symptoms alone, I take a holistic approach by focusing on the root causes that may be affecting you as a whole. I have immediate availability for Select Health, BCBS, and PEHP through Soma Psychotherapy!

Have you ever felt ashamed? Ever felt like others don’t understand you, but say they do? Those have been my own experiences and have led me to work with people in recovery and their families, survivors of domestic violence/abuse, minority communities and teens. I come from a multi-cultural family with an immigrant parent which has both enriched my life and created unique struggles for me. These experiences, however, have helped me empathize with a wide variety of people and situations. My goals are to support my clients as they navigate their struggles and find hope and strength within themselves.

Why meet with me? Good question, glad you asked. I love to understand how people work. Additionally, and probably more pertinently, I have had a long struggle with mental illness. Anxiety, depression, and BPD are illnesses I am well acquainted with and love to help those struggling find healing and movement in their journey. I believe we are more than our illnesses and we can find meaning, purpose, and joy in the life we live. I also believe we can heal and grow in our own post-trauma worlds, to better ourselves and help us achieve the life we want to live. On our own terms, without the sting of extreme pain.

I believe that every person in this world is born with an inner voice that lets them know what they need to do in their lives.  I work with a more eclectic approach using CBT, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy to help someone rediscover their own inner voice.  I bring compassion, understanding, patience and a non-judgmental attitude to the session, because I believe that every human being deserves respect.  I work with adults as individuals and as couples, and with interracial couples.   I have a passion to serve our LGBTQ community and their families.

Everyone has a sense of personal identify. How do you think about yourself? What is important to you? Identities are often imposed or at the very least encouraged by environmental or cultural forces. As a child, were you routinely told, "You can do it!,” or were you more often told; “You can’t do anything right?” The things we hear as children are usually the very things that create our sense of self. Early in life, sense of self is associated with security, protection, and acceptance. If our identity is strongly developed in the early years of life, this helps to protect us against the challenges in life.

I know that it is terrifying to face our "stuff". Talking about it, and learning healthier ways to face hard things so we can manage life differently can increase our ability to live happy, more productive lives. My person-oriented style of counseling helps to build the necessary skills one needs for more satisfying relationships and life experiences. I would be grateful to be included in your healing process. I especially love to help improve the physical connection in couples, and help overcome and heal unhealthy cultural or emotional traumas that may be inhibiting the ability to have a fulfilling sexual relationship.

If you are a couple struggling with constant conflict, poor communication, or emotional distance, counseling may help. You might feel stuck, frustrated, or disconnected, repeating patterns that leave both feeling unheard or unsupported. Stress, life transitions, or past challenges or faith conflict may intensify tension. Counseling can guide you to rebuild trust, improve understanding, and develop healthier ways to connect and navigate life together.

You may feel disconnected from yourself or others, carrying pain that has been overlooked, misunderstood, or minimized. Perhaps anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, or emotional numbness are showing up in ways that feel confusing or exhausting. You want more than coping—you want to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, heal what’s been wounded, and experience deeper connection, meaning, and a sense of belonging in your life.

Does it ever feel like your brain is constantly running, making it hard to slow down or focus on what matters most? Maybe you struggle to start tasks, manage time, transition between responsibilities, or cope with big emotions. Executive functioning challenges and pressure to keep up can leave you feeling overwhelmed and stuck. Over time, repeated struggles, criticism, or feeling misunderstood can fuel perfectionism, shame, self doubt, and a harsh inner voice. In therapy, we will better understand how your brain works, strengthen emotional regulation, and build practical strategies that support you instead of working against you.

I am accepting new clients! I recognize the importance of connection, safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship. Brene Brown wrote, "Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light". Shame diminishes that light within us and tells us we are not worthy. We feel broken. It is in this brokenness that we can find strength, just as the Japanese art of Kintsugi does. We can find ways to work through depression, grief, and anxiety with courage and start to find what matters to you and work toward it together. I can help you find hope and meaning.
