In addition to eating disorders, my practice focuses on grief counseling, depression, anxiety, assertiveness, relaxation, and PTSD for those in the military.
People often go into therapy feeling a great deal of shame, guilt and with secrets. It's important to me that the therapeutic environment I provide allow people to feel they are part of a non-judgmental, safe and warm environment. The goal of therapy is to help clients make behavioral changes and increase insight into the cause of those behaviors and the purpose they serve. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, emotional/stress eating, body image, depression and anxiety. In addition, I run groups for individuals struggling with binge eating disorder.

I work with individuals and couples on a variety of issues including women’s issues, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief and loss, separation and divorce, stress management, co-parenting and more.
Therapy is about you and what you need. So first let me say, Welcome and thank you for taking the first step towards getting the support you deserve. Finding the right fit for a Therapist is important to achieve the goals you desire and can be a frustrating process. So, lets see if this could be a fit for you. The clients that find the most success working with me are ready to see real change in their lives. They have tried other things and it just hasn't helped. The decision to work on themselves, heal and create a life by design has been made and they are ready for it. If this sounds like you read on.

These include: mood, anxiety and personality disorders, Issues surrounding grief and loss, and disorders of infancy and early childhood (ADHD, attachment disorders, acting-out behaviors, separation anxiety and sleep disorders).
I enjoy connecting with my clients and working collaboratively with them to create positive change. I strongly believe that no one is "too far gone", "too damaged", or "beyond help". All individuals have an innate ability to self-right, heal, change, grow and thrive, which starts from the inside out. Sometimes this is difficult to foster, but that does not mean it cannot be done. You have already begun your journey by visiting this page. In my practice, I utilize a caring, holistic, client-centered approach tailoring treatment specifically to each individual, as one size does not fit all.

I have a broad range of counseling experience and have worked with many personal, behavioral, and cultural issues over my 20+ year counseling career. I utilize a holistic approach to help you create positive change within your life. We all encounter transitions in our lifetime (e.g., divorce, relationship issues, illness, death of loved ones, occupational conflicts, separation from employment, end of military service, empty nests, etc.), but it is often the way we respond to these challenges more than the actual challenges themselves that impacts our overall physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

I help people who struggle with anxiety, issues with confidence, eating, acceptance and body image, grief, substance use, and depression.
Life is full of stressors, and these stressors probably got more complicated by surrounding crisis like the pandemic. YOU are not the only one; you are not alone in this. Help is always there for those who seek it. You could have anxiety or you could have gone through traumatic experience, and going through grief. You could be struggling with substance use, or have unmet goals of yours. I hope that you know the real value of counseling therapy. Although it has been recognized as a treatment for those who truly need it, it is also the road to learn how to cope with the points and situations we struggle with during our daily lives.

These include anger, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, acculturation & adjustment issues.
When I first meet with clients, my goal is to help them find the main road back to their original journey, from the exit that led them to the off ramp - I offer a steady hand for them to successfully maneuver in the foggy season of their lives. I provide a supportive environment suitable for helping clients form new insights in achieving alternate healthier perspectives than the ineffective solutions currently in use. I provide an atmosphere of professionalism, empathy, and privacy suitable for positive growth and achievable solutions.

At this time, I am not accepting new clients. I am only doing virtual appointments. I view the therapeutic process as us working together as a team to create the changes that you are working towards. During this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have increased daily stressors, increased fears, increased anxiety, and increased depression along with loss of employment, changes to employment, restrictions and limitations. If you are struggling with anxiety and/or depression, you are not alone. I am here to help.

Like many journeys, therapy begins with where you are now, factors in where you have been, and builds a plan for where you want to go. It is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life and with the right supports in place, you can discover your strengths and begin the healing process. I have found a diverse therapeutic approach to be most effective in assisting my clients coping with life challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, grief, parenting and anger management. This approach utilizes my training in psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, solution focused and mindfulness techniques.

I have ten years of experience working in the mental health I have experience collaborating with school systems and families to resolve student behavioral issues to promote an optimum educational environment. My skills have enabled me to include family dynamics on a more therapeutic level. Working with families I have been able to use a more client centered approach. I have spent the past five years working specifically with co-occurring disorders of mental health and substance use as it infiltrates our communities and families leaving tragedy and loss behind. Behavioral health affects millions of us each day and often leaves us overwhelmed and discouraged.
