I believe in the value of the therapeutic relationship. I respect the uniqueness of each client’s experience and history as well as the diversity and story that each individual brings. It is my goal to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health, and provide an environment that feels safe and easily accessible. I am an advocate for the use of preventative mental health and wellness strategies in treatment and passionate about remedying the effect of childhood trauma, as well as establishing a culture of resilience, equality, and connectedness. I help clients to accept complexity, abandon shame, and find self compassion.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a speciality in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. My focus is on treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and personality disorders. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples and families, and the geriatric population.
Relationships can be difficult - AND profoundly rewarding. My years of professional and personal experience allow me to support you in negotiating transitions, milestones, traumas and losses. I specialize in helping you balance the needs of the family with the demands of the workplace and/or schooling. My goal is to partner with you to shift your struggle as a perceived burden to struggle as an opportunity for growth. I want to empower you to love yourself and your life again and show you how much influence you have on your emotional choices. My practice is strength based with a firm emphasis on the therapist/client relationship.
I believe we have the ability within us to meet the joys and challenges of life with energy, curiosity and a sense of centeredness. When pressures become too great, though, it can be difficult to find that inner state of calm empowerment. Stressful situations, pain and illness and old habitual behaviors can make it difficult to enjoy life.
I specialize in helping couples reclaim loving connection using a proven, evidence-based therapeutic approach called Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT). If you and your partner are stuck in a pattern of conflict, withdrawal, and disconnection, be reassured: There is hope. Even if you have experienced betrayal and loss of trust, therapy can guide you back to joyful, satisfying, intimate connection. I am also a trained Sex Therapist, and help couples discover the joys of erotic pleasure, play, and connection. Together we can transform your relationship...and your life.

*Evening and weekend spots are FULL. Please only inquire if you have morning or early afternoon availability.* Please connect with me via email. I am experienced in working with individuals, couples, and families. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process and that is how I approach every potential client. I believe that we know ourselves best and sometimes we just need some assistance with getting back on track. I believe in a judgement free zone and meeting someone where they are at. I also believe that we all have the tools in our tool box, but sometimes we just need assistance learning how to use them.
In the years I have been a social worker I have worked with various populations of people from many socioeconomic, cultural, and racial backgrounds as well as people with various presenting concerns. I began my career working in the mental health system, then the criminal justice system, then onto medical social work including various medical issues as well as aging and end of life concerns. I believe people can experience difficulties with coping whenever faced with a transition in life.
NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS Living with a mental illness can exhausting and lonely. You might find you have no energy to do anything, even the things you used to love doing. You might find you have thoughts that make you feel worse. Maybe you struggle with anxiety or trauma and feel like you are always on edge and must push yourself to do the “simple” things. Maybe "feeling better" seems out of reach. Many feel feel like nobody understands the struggles each day brings. Life can get better. It might be hard to read and believe that statement and it's true that life does not have to one struggle after another.

Life is challenging, family life can be even more difficult. Working as a family therapist with individuals/families/couples, I know that life regularly takes its toll. The stresses of modern living, work-life balance, a family crisis or mental health challenges can bring a family to its knees at any time. If one member is struggling, often the whole family is affected. If you are going through a tough time, normative challenges associated with lifestage transitions, relationships, parenting issues, or exacerbated by stressors; divorce/blending families/trauma/loss, therapy with a family oriented therapist can make a difference
Are you struggling with feeling anxious, down or overwhelmed? Feeling overwhelmed by parenting or relational stressors? If so, I’d love to work with you! I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort, built on trust. I strive to create a warm, supportive, authentic and non-judgmental environment where individuals can explore life’s challenges whether it be interpersonal, mental health or substance use related.
