The Yale Psychology Department Clinic (YPDC), formerly named the Yale Center for Anxiety and Mood Disorders (YCAMD), has operated as the primary departmental clinic for over 20 years. Advanced doctoral students in clinical psychology provide evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists. Individual, group, couples, and family approaches to treatment are offered from a cognitive behavioral theoretical orientation. Therapy tends to be brief and problem focused, and the fees are determined on a sliding scale. We also offer a variety of mental health skills groups.

I practice therapy because I believe in the human capacity for liberation and healing, and our ability to empower each other and collectively improve our lives. I don't know what living a life that you love and value would look like for you, but I'm excited to find out together. I primarily work with people with serious trauma histories. I’m especially experienced in working with LGBTQIA+ folks, and with the kink and poly/ENM communities. I know how important it is to not only be affirmed in your identities, but understood as someone connected to the larger world.

Starting the therapeutic process can feel overwhelming & daunting. Finding the right fit takes time and effort, with the possibility of disappointment. With so much uncertainty the process can feel frustrating & hopeless ,but taking the first step to meet with a clinician to have a conversation and get a sense of their personality and clinical style can alleviate the anxiety behind the unknown & endless "what if " questions you may have. Some issues I have been able to help clients with are: relationship problems, anxiety, grief, depression, life transitions, developing healthy coping strategies, & overcoming past trauma(s).

My ideology regarding an approach to therapy is utilizing the helping profession like a GPS. The client is the one who is in the drivers seat, I as a therapist will navigate the client to their desired destination, making this journey as safe as possible. Working on this navigation process, the therapeutic relationship will focus on exploring yourself, unfolding your story and reaching self growth. I do not only work on managing/alleviating symptoms which can only be a temporary relief, I also work on analyzing whats beneath the surface.

Life can feel like a lot sometimes okay, most of the time. Anxiety, depression, burnout, cultural expectations, substance use, disorganized eating, or the daily pressure of just keeping it together can pile up fast. Maybe you’re also exploring your gender identity, sexual orientation, or simply trying to feel more at home in your own skin. Wherever you are, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Together, we’ll gently unpack what’s been weighing you down and build practical, realistic steps toward balance, healing, and self acceptance. My approach is warm, and collaborative with room for honesty, growth, and even some humor.

No one is given a life free of hardships, challenges or difficulties. Often the bravest thing a person can do is to acknowledge having such an experience and to ask for help to get to a better outcome. I have been humbled and honored to work with people as they have healed, grown and learned through therapy. I am a deeply empathic person who will offer you the safety to explore and know your experience, and then will structure your helping process around a holistic understanding of where you are now. Our work together focuses on your goals to get you to your version of personal wellness. Please call or email so we can talk more!

The most important characteristics of a good therapist are intelligent listening, the ability to use multiple skills according to the needs of the client, and most importantly, compassion. Having worked with depression and anxiety (as well as many other issues) for 33 years I can state clearly............... seeking help at a time when you are, perhaps, most vulnerable, is very difficult. It's important for a therapist to be especially sensitive to this.
