Is your child struggling emotionally or academically with school? Appear angry, dysregulated and overwhelmed at home? Do they get weepy or irritable on Sunday nights or after a school break? Are they struggling with peer relationships? If so, my approach with children is relational, empathic, and nurturing while empowering them with coping skills and social skills that will aim to reduce the worry and improve overall well being both at home and in school.
The Yale Psychology Department Clinic (YPDC), formerly named the Yale Center for Anxiety and Mood Disorders (YCAMD), has operated as the primary departmental clinic for over 20 years. Advanced doctoral students in clinical psychology provide evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists. Individual, group, couples, and family approaches to treatment are offered from a cognitive behavioral theoretical orientation. Therapy tends to be brief and problem focused, and the fees are determined on a sliding scale. We also offer a variety of mental health skills groups.
Yale Teen POWER is a research clinic that does treatment studies to develop and test new behavioral therapies. We work with teens (11-17 years old) who have concerns about eating and weight, such as those who are engaging in binge eating and those who have been bullied because of weight.
My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan with your guided support. I pride myself in meeting you where you’re at as you are the experts in your stories. Therapy is most effective when the therapist and client build a strong rapport through being genuine, caring, and trusting. Even if you just need a safe space to share/vent that is what I am here for. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
UNFORTUNATELY , I AM NOT TAKING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME. In seeking therapy, you may be addressing depression, anxiety or substance use. You may be looking to improve personal relationships, navigate a life transition or change behaviors that aren’t working for you. Whatever it may be, we can collaborate to meet your needs. As a therapist I am curious, non-judgmental, and honest. I bring a combination of warmth, practicality and a sense of humor. My approach to therapy is relational and trauma informed. I provide an affirming environment for people who are transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC).
Are you feeling overwhelmed by a recent life change? Perhaps it has been slowly building and the constant juggle of competing demands no longer seem sustainable. Change is not easy, however life transitions are often the catalyst for healthy growth. I can help you to unpack the negative thoughts, anxieties, and emotions to discover your triggers and identify patterns. Through this process, clients gain a sense of empowerment to create balance in their lives. The path to inner peace and happiness emerges out of insight and balance.
Starting the therapeutic process can feel overwhelming & daunting. Finding the right fit takes effort & commitment, with the possibility of disappointment. With so much uncertainty the process can feel frustrating & hopeless ,but taking the first step to meet with a clinician to have a conversation and get a sense of their personality and clinical style can alleviate the anxiety behind the unknown & endless "what if " questions you may have. Some issues I have been able to help clients with are: relationship problems, anxiety, grief, depression, life transitions, developing healthy coping strategies, & overcoming past trauma(s).
Psychotherapy leads one towards making sense of their world and improving it where it lacks meaning. Seeking treatment involves posing a question about oneself. I work under the assumption that your unconscious mind already contains the knowledge through which you can first articulate your question. I will collaborate with you in listening to yourself curiously, observing your feelings respectfully and paying close attention to your choice of words. Together we will tap into your endless self-knowledge through which your self-acceptance and authenticity can be enhanced, your strength to change can be boosted, and ultimately, your question can be answered.
My intention for treatment is to provide my client with the tools to facilitate self-healing using mind-body practices in conjunction with traditional clinical therapy. I bring my practice of Mindfulness and Yoga to the therapeutic relationship as a complement to my training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Attachment Theory, Solution-Focused Therapies, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), and Neurofeedback Therapy. I specialize in helping young adults and adults, as well as families. I also have extensive experience working with victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking.
***NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS*** Therapy is one of the most valuable measures of self-care one can take to live a well-balanced life. I am honored to support my clients as they navigate rocky or unfamiliar waters during periods of adjustment, anxiety and depression. These seasons of our lives can feel unsettling and cause us to feel “stuck” in an unpleasant place. Fortunately, they also present us with the opportunity for growth toward a more rewarding life. Unveiling anxiety, depression, unsettling thoughts, insecurities, trauma and disappointment requires courage- I commend you for taking this first step!
My ideology regarding an approach to therapy is utilizing the helping profession like a GPS. The client is the one who is in the drivers seat, I as a therapist will navigate the client to their desired destination, making this journey as safe as possible. Working on this navigation process, the therapeutic relationship will focus on exploring yourself, unfolding your story and reaching self growth. I do not only work on managing/alleviating symptoms which can only be a temporary relief, I also work on analyzing whats beneath the surface.

I am Certified in EMDR, and I accept Husky patients. EMDR is a trauma therapy which research has shown to be highly effective. The most important characteristics of a good therapist are intelligent listening, the ability to use multiple skills according to the needs of the client, and most importantly, compassion. I have worked with depression, trauma and anxiety (among other issues) for 21 years. Couples have been my speciaity for 23 years. It is very difficult to seek help at a time when one is most vulnerable and I am especially sensitive to this with my clients.
