As an individual and couples therapist, with a focus on sex therapy and trauma, I work to support clients in stepping into their lives in a more embodied and authentic way. What you are experiencing is valid and as humans, connection and support can be monumental during difficult times. I bring warmth into my work and value helping my clients improve connection to themselves, their relationships with others, and their sexuality. I will work alongside you to reflect in a meaningful and validating way, beginning to heal the trauma holistically both in your mind and body.

I treat adults with PTSD, personality disorders, survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, religious trauma, people with suicidal thoughts or self harm, depression, grief, loss, and many other issues. I also see clients diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I work with folks on issues regarding family life: parenting and other relationships. In your therapy, I will work carefully to provide a calm, warm, safe space in which to explore your unique self, and what happiness, satisfaction, and fulfillment look like for you. As therapy progresses, we will talk about everything that is important to you.

I offer EMDR for trauma recovery (all forms of trauma, however you define it).
Sometimes it is really hard to persist. Making change or accepting reality can be confusing. Reaching out to a therapist can be scary. With empathy and an anti-oppression approach, I can help you examine what's keeping you stuck, overwhelmed, frozen, or confused. I specialize in working people who move through the world differently, particularly trans and queer people.

I use EMDR to address trauma issues, as well as trauma focused CBT.
Hello! I have lived and worked in the Pullman area for some time. I enjoy the Palouse area, getting outside to hike or mushroom hunt whenever I can. My passion is working with people who experience depression, anxiety and specifically survivors of trauma. I believe in looking holistically at someone's life and incorporating strengths, gifts, culture and other practices the client finds helpful in their lives. Most symptoms don't happen in a bubble. They occur in many aspects of our life. Currently I am only providing telehealth services. Please email with inquiries.

Secondary trauma can lead to issues with sleep, meaningful connection with others, & overall well-being.
Therapy and Consultation for Professionals...Are you feeling burned out, having trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, or feeling like you are not helping your patients or clients as much as you would like to? Maybe you are having a difficult time enjoying the work that you once felt passionate about? Perhaps you are finding that your own unresolved trauma is being triggered in your work and you are having a tough time being fully present. Counter-transference may also be showing up in ways that are not always helpful to those you serve, which can happen when we are experiencing compassion fatigue.

We are trained to engage the intricacies of trauma, abuse, and war.
There are many reasons why you might be looking for a counselor, but the search always involves a certain amount of courage and humility. Maybe things in life are not turning out as you've planned; or, you've woken up with a hangover three too many times or you can't quite kick your late night consumption of an endless scroll of pornography; or, perhaps, you've never quite gotten past the death of a loved one or a choice made during a heated conflict of war. Perhaps your fighting with your spouse, struggling to discern your vocation, or a myriad of other possibilities; whatever brings you, I commend your brave and humble beginning.

My passion is to help survivors of trauma, challenging life experiences and grief events become unstuck and break the cycle of emotional pain. Often these difficult situations from the past have led to an inability to move forward in life, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and PTSD. Sometimes they lead to questioning your own faith and purpose in life. If you're feeling lost, hurt and emotionally overwhelmed and if you're looking to heal from the past so you can move forward into a brighter future, I'd love to come along side of you on your journey.

I am an EMDR practitioner and I view therapy through a humanistic and trauma-informed lens.
I love to work with female, male, and LGBTQ professionals who experienced hurtful childhoods or abusive relationships and struggle to let go of the past, feel "like they are not enough", "have to prove their worth", or "settle for less". I love to help clients understand why they continuously attract "the wrong partner" so they can make different choices, move on from hurtful relationships, and attract more suitable partners. I welcome polyamory, kink, and sex-positivity. I enjoy helping clients get past traumatic experiences so they can feel safe in their bodies again and courageous about taking up space in their lives.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
