As a counselor, I'm here to help. I am humbled to be of service helping you grow, heal, and learn from the challenges you face. It is my experience that people often come to counseling, " tangled up " from their own experiences, thoughts and feelings. Just the act of giving that gift of counseling support to yourself, taking time out from your daily life, and creating that space for reflection can bring immediate and lasting relief.

By exploring the role the past has played in current difficulties and dissolving old, destructive patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving, life can be more balanced and joyful. I offer warmth, compassion, support, and insight to my clients, with an approach that is direct, non-judgmental, and tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual. Oriented toward building on natural strengths and empowering meaningful changes, our work together can foster an increased ability to more adaptively attend to the ever-changing flow of life.

Showing up is the most important and often hardest part of this process. Once you make it to the office, we can usually find a direction for change you feel connected to. If we don't show up, change isn't likely to occur. I don't care if you are sad, angry, rageful, confused, indifferent, suicidal, or in despair, if you show up, I promise to do the same. If we can't make space for the spectrum of our humanity in the therapeutic space then where can we? I believe people are genuinely trying to do the best they can with what they have, and sometimes what we have isn't useful for the immediate situation. So, we get help.

I offer a free 30 minute in-person consultation to assess your child's needs and to determine if we would be a good fit for counseling.

I am not presently accepting new clients. You want a therapist who will actually listen to you, give you feedback when you ask for it, and not try to boss you around. That's what you get when you hire me. This is your life being discussed and you live with the consequences of your choices, not me. I want you to find what is most important to you and help you figure out how to deal with what has been stopping you from getting it. People inviting me to collaborate like this is one of the greatest honors I've had.

We all have strengths that can be hard to see, especially during times of struggle. I aim to help people identify and reinforce those positive traits to encourage a path to change. Sometimes we need to be challenged to grow -- and that works best in a respectful and non-judgmental environment.
