I am a licensed professional counselor and have been working in the field since 2007. I have experience working in varied settings including community mental health, hospital/ER, and Portland DBT Institute, Inc.

I am the founder and director of Pacific Christian Counseling Center. I am also an ordained minister, graduating from Chicago Theological Seminary and also have my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. I have over 35 years of experience in individual, family and group counseling. I look forward to working with you!

Esther is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling with a youth and child specialization. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. As a counselor, Esther is committed to serving clients by partnering with them in working toward healthy change, development, and growth. Her areas of concentration include PTSD, play therapy, neurofeedback therapy, and parent skills training, utilizing EMDR, brainspotting and peak performance training.

At the Pacific Interprofessional Clinic, our licensed clinical psychologist provides mental and behavioral health services and our physical therapist provides physical therapy services. We will be expanding services in the fall of 2021 to include a certified Physician Assistant who will collaborate with the rest of the clinical team to treat our patients.

The Pacific Psychology Clinic is part of Pacific University's school of Professional Psychology and is one of the main training sites for our doctoral students and interns. Our therapists are advanced doctoral psychology students supervised by experienced, licensed psychologists. Our mission is to bring meaningful change in clients' lives, the education of tomorrow's clinical psychologists, and the scientific study and development of effective treatments. Since 1980, the Pacific Psychology Clinic has provided outpatient assessment and psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in the greater Portland area.

We are not currently taking new clients. Our practice was established by Dr. Matt Orbell, PhD., and Khrystal Condon, M.Ed., in October of 2017 to support the mental health and well-being of folks in the Benton County area. At Pacific Valley Counseling we work to help clients make meaningful changes and to successfully navigate personal and professional struggles. As a Spiritual Director, my role is to respond to those who have a desire to discover the presence of God in all life's moments. If you are looking for a safe and open space for that journey, I am happy to journey with you. Life experiences have a way of influencing how we see ourselves and others. It is in paying attention to our inner lives that the soul begins to thrive. I companion those from various faith backgrounds as well as those who are feeling the 'tug' to know more about the soul.

My Philosophy and Approach: I believe that each person is resilient and has the ability to heal, change, and overcome various barriers. My goal in therapy is to offer sensible tools to allow healthy coping and emotional growth while increasing self-esteem and independence. Each individual has a right to self determination in which they are encouraged to determine what is best for them regarding the present, the future, and the goals they set for themselves.

Relationships are the bedrock of society, change, and connection. Having a good sense of self requires having a good relationship with yourself. Having fulfilling relationships increases our ability to cope with life, has long term positive effects on our physical and mental health, and makes us happier. Adults, children, adolescents, and their families are welcomed in my private practice, and playroom for the children. My specialty for over 25 years has been working with children, adolescents, and their families. After becoming a Level II EMDR trauma therapist in the past 20 years, I have worked with many adults challenged by difficulties. Both my adult and child clients are often faced with depression, anxiety, and grief commonly created by divorce, death, adoption, abuse, and feelings of hopelessness, anger, and poor self-esteem.
