SORRY, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME. Debby Vajda, LCSW - I have been a clinician for over 40 years and offer energy psychotherapy and counseling to adults & teens for anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic pain, depression, medical problems, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, smoking cessation, stress, substance abuse, trauma resolution, allergies, and other issues. Energy psychology is a gentle approach to resolving problems. It often offers a quicker and deeper resolution than talk therapy alone can provide.
*Ofrezco terapia bilingue, en espanol y en ingles.* I offer bilingual therapy, in Spanish and/or English. I believe a sense of trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship is necessary in order to facilitate the change we want to see in our lives. To work towards this goal in my therapeutic relationships, I work from a feminist multicultural framework. I believe the client is the expert on their own experiences. I use collaborative, relational, and strength-based therapy to facilitate a genuine and honest therapeutic relationship that can promote insight and adaptive change.
Psychotherapy is often described as ‘the treatment of mental disorders,’ but that is only one of many reasons a person may seek services. Psychologists have the unique knowledge & expertise to draw connections between past relational patterns, individual brain chemistry, heritability of symptoms, emotional awareness, & thought processes/behaviors that perpetuate impairments in functioning. Psychotherapy isn’t a matter of asking a question & receiving advice - but rather learning the skills to make sense of life & building the confidence to take control of it.
For over 25 years, I've had the honor of assisting couples, families, and individuals of all ages, as they identify, clarify and find constructive coping strategies to deal with issues relating to anxiety, depression, grief, anger and relationships. As a Marriage & Family Therapist, I especially enjoy working on issues such as affair recovery, attachment disorders and phase-of-life challenges. Whether you are struggling with a relationship in your life, overwhelming anxiety, or some other problem, I would be honored to work with you. I prefer to work with those who have clear goal goals, and who are solution-focused.
Do you experience intense and unmanageable emotions? Do you often find yourself acting impulsively and engaging in self-defeating behaviors? Does it seem like you are simply surviving the journey of life rather than enjoying it? Change is possible! I am glad you are interested in counseling with me and I look forward to hearing your story. Through therapy I can help you learn new ways to cope with current difficulties, as well as heal old wounds. I will strive to help you discover your own inner strength and become your best self.
I believe each of us is drawn toward fulfilling connections with others and with our most life-affirming self, that inner voice that guides us toward what we truly feel and what most deeply matters to us. Sometimes, though, because of hurtful relationships past or present, self-doubt, loss, trauma, or life transitions, we lose touch with that inner wisdom. We feel lost or empty, or get stuck in anxiety, anger, confusion, or low self-esteem, and need support hearing and trusting that inner voice again. Too often we hide from our pain or try to tough it out alone. That you are here means you are open to trying a different path.
I enjoy helping children and teens develop the skills necessary to effectively manage their emotions, maintain positive relationships, and develop themselves in all areas of their lives. (1) I am only doing telehealth therapy at this time. (2) I am only accepting referrals for boys age 11-18. (3) I am only contracted with Colorado Access/Chp+ Medicaid Insurance, and CareOregon/Health Share (OHP).
My practice is culturally specific to the BIPOC community and 100% Telehealth. I’ll be happy to discuss how therapy or coaching can help you achieve where you want to be in life. My ideal clients are BIPOC professionals who are results-oriented. For the past 20 plus years,I have worked well with clients who are seeking help with trauma, racism, stress, managing relationship issues, goal attainment, or issues related to emotion, self-esteem, mood disorders, and SUD.

We all have a story to tell, and I am here to listen to yours. Life can be messy; full of positive moments and full of stress, isolation, anxiety, disconnection, and loss. I believe counseling is a powerful and courageous avenue to deepen your connection and belongingness to yourself and to the most important relationships in your life. Together, we can get curious about your experience to enhance your life.
I see my work as a partnership where together we develop a strategy for addressing the concerns that brought you to seek help. I believe everyone has the power to heal themselves and through the therapeutic relation with the therapist you will learn how to do this.
Are you ready to become the best version of yourself? I especially enjoy working with veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and their families.
Please note: *I am unable to accept new clients at this time". I help people get in touch with the core of who they are, what they are longing for, and how to savor life more fully. I specialize in helping people recover from eating disorders, anxiety, and relationship issues. Whatever your struggle, I will meet you where you are with genuine warmth, curiosity, and a belief that deep and lasting transformation is possible.
I believe that all people can benefit from therapy at one or multiple points in their lives. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults for individual, family, and couple's therapy. Common presenting issues that I work with include depression, anxiety, relational conflict, and trauma. I am particularly passionate about working with young adults, trauma survivors, and new/expecting parents. Ideal clients are committed to attending appointments consistently and are interested in creating meaningful change.
I am experienced at working with men and women between the ages of 16 and 70 with anger, depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, PTSD, online addictions, gender identity, and other behavioral/emotional challenges. I build on an individual’s passions, discovering their skills and strengths, and using those assets to help them overcome obstacles in their lives. It is not weakness to seek help. It's wise. So, when habits turn into addictions, when anger causes rifts, or the days feel overwhelming, give me a call.
Maybe you are on the verge of something…big, scary, exhilarating, distressing. Are you looking for some support to take a leap of faith? Has life brought you to a crossroads you are unsure how to navigate? My passion is helping adults, particularly those over age 50, facing the challenges during life transitions such as employment change, relocation, divorce, empty nest, health. I can work with you to transform challenges into exciting discoveries of self. I like to refer to this as resilience. Resilience is not a trait that people either have or do not have. Anyone can be resilient. Resilience is not magic; it takes effort.
I am an Insight oriented, GLBTQIA friendly and anti-racist practitioner. I focus on long-term change and improved well-being while working towards "here and now" self-compassion, self-care and behavioral changes to achieve lasting change. I strive to promote advocacy, social justice and inherent self worth with each client. I work with clients concerned with substance use/abuse, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma and emotional regulation concerns among other areas of concern. You may see more about my areas of focus in my profile.
Do you have a desire to heal from change, grief/loss, trauma or suffering and wish to find meaning in your life? Are you hoping to find joy and passion through creativity? Working alongside my clients I integrate approaches, which can include the art making process as visual and symbolic expression, to work toward personal goals.
I invite you to tell me your story. It may be one that you have told a thousand times, repeating it to yourself and hearing it from others while hoping for change. It may be one that you have always kept inside, not yet ready to say or hear the words, but knowing that it needs to come out. You may feel like you are not the author but only a character, struggling to find your voice. You may feel like it is a sad story, full of trauma and pain that just repeats. Now imagine you can write a new story, one filled with power, strength, and in your own words. Everyone needs a chance to tell a story, and I am ready to hear yours.
No openings at this time. Life is all about relationships! I seek to help others find the hope, healing, strength and grace needed to face the many challenges of life. My passion is assisting individuals, couples and families to increase in resilience, coping and stress management skills and in their abilities to encourage and appreciate themselves and one another.
