My own personal experience as a mother of two, combined with my professional experience and expertise helps me assist individuals and couples address relational conflict, strengthen communication, and reduce anxiety and depression.

Clients in my practice are often college students and adults from all backgrounds. Areas of focus can include depressed moods, anxiety, self-esteem, family of origin exploration, relationships, transitions, social concerns, work and school challenges, adjustment and personal growth. My approach is a mix of process oriented exploration as well as solution focused insights.

As a queer therapist, I specialize in working with LGBTQ individuals, as wells as children, teens, young adults and families. I work with clients who want to get help quickly and don't want to spend years in therapy. Through all stages of life, from birth to death, I help couples, families and individuals get through troubled times, tackle new and old problems and develop realistic and sustainable ways of living. We answer questions like "how will you know therapy is helping you?" and "what changes will others notice about you that will help increase your confidence that therapy is working?" The most important question to ask is "what changes in my life will I notice I have made that would lead to the end of therapy."

I have been in private practice for 39 years. I feel that the most important thing I bring to the therapeutic relationship is wisdom obtained both through training and life experience. I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients’ individual needs and unique life situation to help them attain the personal growth they are striving for. My most extensive experience is with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and eating disorders. I do individual therapy.

I am looking forward to working with adults, couples, families, adolescents and/or children (in no particular order) that are interested in art therapy and counseling. I have had 5 years experience in a residential setting with adolescents who struggle with both addictions and mental health concerns. And for another 7 years I worked with children and families in need of significant services at a non-profit organization downtown. I am now primarily working with Clients (like you!) at my private practice in SE Portland and am truly enjoying the experience.
