Offering a holistic approach to psychotherapy, I provide a place for individuals who are struggling with stress and anxiety, grief or bereavement, depression, self esteem or relationship issues as well as many other challenges that we deal with daily. I will guide individuals to empower themselves and regain control over their lives. By exploring areas that are no longer serving you I will work with you to unravel the negative patterns that create barriers and move toward discovering awareness, balance and reconnection.

There's a place in you that's still. Calm. Quiet. Effortless. Powerful. I promise you. That place is in all of us. Maybe you've been there before. Lucky you. You have a recollection of what that place felt like and yearn to go back. Maybe you never have. All the more reason to find it. "Life is a good teacher and a good friend". Doesn't always feel that way, I know. Life can bring us to our knees. Wherever you find yourself now, I promise you there is hope. The possibility exists of befriending life and finding that place.

Everyone goes through difficult times and we all experience it in very different ways. Making the choice to go to counselling to improve your life is the first step on your journey towards recovery, contentment and improving your relationships. Counselling offers support to those who struggle with emotions of anger and sadness, feelings of anxiety and fear, relationship issues, PTSD and addictions. It involves an investment of your time, money and hard work, but can open up a whole new world of healing, balance, motivation and self worth. I provide discounts to first responders, their families and people with financial difficulties.

I seek to help clients who suffer from anxiety, grief, depression, have lived through trauma, or struggle with self-esteem, self-forgiveness, and self-kindness. Parents and those in a perinatal period of their life will find particular expertise in my practice. Clients who are willing to actively experiment and question their own perspectives in order to improve their lives will benefit most from therapy with me. I want to help clients find who they really are, to self-actualize and be their genuine selves, leading to mental wellness so that they can thrive.

There are many reasons you may be considering therapy in this moment. Life challenges arise for all of us from time to time. Often we can ride out the storms, while at other times it can be a struggle to find balance. Therapy can offer insights on your experience that you may not have considered, and provide relief so that you can live a happier life.

Whether it is anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, OCD or another concern, we are here to help. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and you should commend yourself for taking this step. Therapy is not an easy process and it takes work. However, that hard work can often lead to great insight and personal growth.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or province where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $3200 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
