I have a small private practice and only see clients on Fridays because I also teach full-time at a local university. I also offer a free over-the-phone consultation. I am a Licensed Psychologist in Texas (in person & virtual sessions) & Illinois (virtual only sessions) providing short and long-term therapy to adults (ages 18 and up). I have worked with individuals from all ranges of life including varying socio-economic status and different stages of life in settings like college counseling centers, community mental health, and forensic detention facilities. Some areas of interest to me are depression or difficult moods, troubling thought processes, low self-esteem, anxiety, anger management, recovery from trauma, and chronic relationship problems/marriage difficulties.

Antwine D. Charles Sr is a retired veteran who served 24 years as a Navy Corpsman (medic) in the U.S. Navy. Serving in many countries and theatre’s, Antwine encountered many different cultures, in various war-torn, under-developed, and impoverished communities. Earning his Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, his interest include other cultures, customs and traditions. His journey ignited his interest in multi-cultural counseling, community servanthood and an endeavor to bring Mental Healthcare to those who are in need of counseling services wherever he can.

My passion is to help people see and be their best versions. I am a Veteran and know my strengths lay with Veterans and First Responders, but my skills can assist anyone that is in need. My focus has been trauma and addiction. I believe the client is the expert and I am a team member that collaborate with client, and medication management team to assist in the best path forward.

The person I’m feel best able to work with is someone that has dealt with significant trauma or serious difficulties in their life, due to chronic health or family issues. But they are now interested in working to overcome the impact of these issues on them and their life. Since this person has made an active decision to begin the change process I want to be able to provide support and guidance to them in starting this process. I will work with them to support them in whatever direction they choose to go in their journey. I will also work with LPC-Associates to provide them with competent support, as they start their career.

Mask usage: I will NOT be wearing a mask and ask that you do not either. Your whole face is essential for effective communication. I do have a clear face shield that is sanitized after every use, if you require a mask. Telehealth is always an option. I provide outpatient rehabilitation Recreational Therapy (i.e., Experiential Activity-Based) for mental and physical optimum health (both online telehealth and in-person sessions). At our Lake Travis location, the Center for Therapeutic Recreation Technology (CTRT), we provide techniques including biofeedback, Ecotherapy (Nature therapy), video gaming, and virtual reality therapy. In the greater Austin, Texas area we provide limited Community-Based sessions.
