You deserve an expansive and liberated life. Many of my clients are exploring what it means to be their most authentic self, and how to deal with the barriers that stand in their way. They're looking for a place to be seen and understood, and to be able to let down their guard. I see clients who are navigating identity, sexuality, and belonging; those with trauma histories, anxiety, and depression, looking for relief and a deeper healing that takes them to a place of ease and fulfillment. They may have tried other solutions, but feel stuck and eager for a lasting and meaningful change.

I am passionate about personal growth and development, the pursuit of peace (mental, emotional, spiritual and relational), and how to best respect ourselves and others. I am privileged to participate in therapeutic relationships in the hope of improving quality of life, understanding, and our ability to love others and ourselves more fully. Having come from a military family, treating active duty and their families clinically has become an experience I greatly value. I have also been fortunate to work with those struggling through marital conflict, unhealthy work and home environments as well as a variety of clinical disorders.

Relationships are a part of life and there are times when a trained mental health professional can support you in sorting through difficulties. Many of my clients come in wanting better for themselves, their relationship with their partners, and their relationship with their families. Grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression can play a role in clients feeling stuck, like there is no solution. My clients are wanting relief, peace, and joy. With couples, I work with their desire for healing from infidelity, having the same argument, and adjusting to life stages like infertility, career changes, and other transitions.

It may be no surprise that everyone struggles with something. But that doesn't necessarily make it any easier to feel or cope with your pain. Perhaps you've reached out to trusted friends or family members for support, but are still looking for additional resources. Or maybe what you're struggling with feels too burdensome or difficult to share with those closest to you. It could be, as is often the case, that your primary concern has to do with the very person you would normally confide in! Whatever the situation, I hope to be the extra measure of support you are looking for.

There is no 'right' way through this. There is just 'through.' Families are under tremendous pressure, even more so during these times. Children & teens spent too long without their social support and are now trying to achieve a new normal. This fear and anxiety of the unknown is similar to those experienced by adults recently. I can help adults, teens, & children work through the fear, anxiety, stress and trauma and help you build strong, healthy, resilient individuals and families. I enjoy working with all ages and specialize in family conflict, anxiety/depression, trauma, PTSD, Veterans, First Responders, & child specialties.

When human beings experience trauma or severe stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through traumatic experiences like grief, depression or self harm when they are feeling like they are not enough, or anxiety in social or life adjustments. I wish to help children of ages 7+, teens 12-18, and adults/adolescents 18-30 to find perceptions about themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves and feel whole and safe.

Each day it seems that new, seemingly impossible hurdles appear before us, isolating & discouraging us. I want you to know that you are not alone, broken, or insufficient. What I offer is the chance to build a genuine & authentic connection with you - the real you, not the "you" who the world or others tell you to be. I honor your unique experiences by hearing what you are thinking, feeling, & surviving. Together we can then explore how you are being impacted by these things & what you desire to change about them in order to live a fulfilling, meaningful life. I have spent years working in mental healthcare & am ready to help you!

Therapy is a place to welcome the most vulnerable parts of ourselves; a place to heal, a place to grow, and a place to be as we are. I believe that with acceptance, compassion, and authenticity from healthy social support, we have the capacity to develop a growth mindset and discover our inner strength. My experiences as a dancer have taught me that the relationship between mind, body, and spirit is integrative in holistically assessing our state of self and I hope to utilize these interconnected entities in helping my clients discover their unique capacity for healing.

I have 17 years specialized training & experience in body-centered psychotherapies, working with trauma, post traumatic stress & moral injury. Neuroscience confirms trauma resides in the body; we know the body's wisdom guides the release of trauma perfectly with adequate safety, effective "witnessing," & mindful inner attention. Distressing thoughts, beliefs & social inhibition are the primary barriers to the body's ability to release trauma & re-wire the neurological system in a transformational process that decades of "talk therapy" could never accomplish. These powerful, highly effective interventions assure the debilitating effects of trauma are no longer something people must "live with."

How can I find a therapist in Texas?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
