When are you the happiest? Is it when you have gone fishing? Or, is it when you are winning the video game Fortnite? Is it when you are playing card games, cooking or telling a joke? The things that you enjoy (and are meaningful to you), those are your leisure activity interests. When a mental health condition impacts your ability to do the fun activities that are the most meaningful in your life; Recreational Therapy (RT), is the specialized therapy to help you! RT treats your emotional and social health by doing activities you enjoy in sessions. You Deserve Therapy as Unique as You Are: We Deliver Science That Makes You Smile.
RT is an allied health specialty. If you enjoy playing video games, RT helps you develop social skills, decrease anxiety, or reduce stress, by playing video games in your therapy session. We use a variety of scientific evidence-based activities (Fishing, Fortnite - online within the game, and Nature therapy) and methods (ACT, CBT, DBT) to treat all ages.
Inclusion Therapies developed our 2-6 month Lifestyle Foundation Program for Healthy Aging which treats the five domains (or areas) of your overall health (cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual) in a structured process. Services available both online and in-person at our Lake Travis center in Volente via our monthly membership subscription.
