As a therapist, I am passionate about working with people who are trying to make sense of the painful patterns in their lives. Often, the symptoms that bring people to therapy are an indication of deeper emotional wounds. The type of therapy I provide focuses on both resolving current symptoms and healing problematic relational patterns through the creation of a safe, consistent environment in which to understand the complexity of a person's experiences and history. Together we will work towards greater self-knowledge, compassion, and growth.

I will meet you where you are on your personal journey and facilitate a path leading you to a more fulfilling life. I'm a Licensed Psychotherapist with experience working with adults, couples, families and teens. I'm experienced in working with diverse populations and providing treatment for chronic depression, anxiety and mood disorder. I specialize in providing services for family conflict, childhood neglect, PTSD, relationship trauma, identity exploration and emotional dysregulation.

Unfortunately, I am not currently taking couples. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a Masters of Science Degree in Counseling, Marital, Couples and Family Therapy. I have been working in mental health since 2010, providing services to families, couples and individuals. I work with each client to establish goals and objectives that best fit individual needs, through careful assessment and evaluation.

I believe the deepest human longing is to be known and loved. It is through connection we find fulfillment and satisfaction in life. Often, our adverse life experiences cause fear, anxiety, anger, shame, and confusion, which rob us of authentic relationships. It is my passion and life's commitment to support and assist others in finding their path of freedom so that they may live a rich and deeply connected life with those they love. Together we will explore and process what obstacles may be keeping the client from reaching goals, feeling stuck, and fully living.

I'm really passionate about helping people understand how their past is influencing their life currently and helping them develop insight to make changes for a more fulfilling life. I have specialized trauma training to help clients resolve not only the "big T" traumas but also the "little t stuff"... the chronic smaller traumas that shape and mold us too. I get that not everyone wants to dig up the past and also offer counseling for those who want to work through current issues and learn new skills and coping mechanisms.

My primary passion and area of focus is children of divorce, blended families, and healing marriages. I have been working within this area of interest professionally since 2010, with personal experiences of having a blended family since 2005. Then opening Anchor of Hope in 2018 to help other families. Treatment often includes both individual and family counseling with a focus on grief following a divorce, strengthening and healing biological family relationships, and understanding and encouraging the process of blending that often takes place through remarriage and other life transitions, such as new siblings, moving, etc.

My Client's tell me I an non-judgmental, trustworthy and have helped them tremendously. I work hard to create a safe and nurturing environment for each and every one of my clients. With over 18 years of experience, I am comfortable working with a wide variety of individuals and problems including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, stress management, grief and trauma. I employ a variety of interventions to aid my clients in developing mindfulness, tolerance, emotions regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

I am rostered in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). I serve as a board approved supervisor for counseling candidates seeking licensure in the State of Oklahoma.

I treat individuals in order to treat families with the understanding that the whole of the family system is greater than the sum of its' parts. Thirty five years in the business has taught me that anything and everything that affects an individual also affects the family system as a whole and vice versa.

Grief and loss presents itself in a basket of multifactorial components. Grief tugs at our hearts and minds through a significant loss or conflict. I have a strong passion for helping people who are struggling with grief from the death of a loved one, trauma, relationship issues, blended families, career issues, chronic illness, or life’s trials and tribulations. Believe it or not, we can even have grief from lack of boundaries and people pleasing. In a world where we tend to avoid grief and loss in hope it will simply disappear, we may find it creeping back in. This can be intentional or unintentional. I often hear “I feel stuck”.

People are uniquely shaped by their early relationships, especially family relationships and subsequent life experiences. By participating in counseling people can address their struggles, strengths and life choices. I strive to provide a safe, encouraging and respectful environment where those committed to therapy and change are able to find solutions.

I believe a healthy client/therapist relationship is of the utmost importance for success in counseling. My sole purpose as a counselor is that of a facilitator and to provide my client with an environment that fosters growth. I'm optimistic about your potential to recognize those thoughts and behaviors that keep you from becoming your best self. I recognize the imbalance in the client/therapist relationship and will work to help you feel comfortable during our interaction. At times, you may be reluctant to disclose for fear of judgment. I acknowledge your fears but know that you are in a safe and confidential setting.

Due to the CV-19 pandemic, I'm currently using both Telehealth and in-person counselling with my clients in Oklahoma. I am currently taking new clients. My goal is for clients to finish counseling feeling heard, cared for and loved. Sometimes stress and trauma can be made worse by our own beliefs. Therapy can help identify and correct those harmful thoughts and false beliefs. Caring friends have helped my family and me to face life's biggest challenges. My primary approach to therapy is a cognitive-behavioral orientation but I also maintain a spiritual aspect to my therapy. I deal with most psychotherapeutic issues, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma, sleep-related issues and stress. I work with adults. I am also certified in EMDR.

First, we identify who or what triggers your anxiety and/or depression. Are you living in isolation? Are you eating and sleeping properly? What is depression and what are the symptoms?
