I believe a healthy client/therapist relationship is of the utmost importance for success in counseling. My sole purpose as a counselor is that of a facilitator and to provide my client with an environment that fosters growth. I'm optimistic about your potential to recognize those thoughts and behaviors that keep you from becoming your best self. I recognize the imbalance in the client/therapist relationship and will work to help you feel comfortable during our interaction. At times, you may be reluctant to disclose for fear of judgment. I acknowledge your fears but know that you are in a safe and confidential setting.
In my practice, I use Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, Reality therapy, Solution-Focused Brief therapy, and other theoretical orientations based on my client's needs. I also work with child/adolescent trauma (i.e. sexual abuse, etc.) and have achieved National Certification in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
I work with an ethnically and culturally diverse clientele. Change is hard, but it is often necessary for you to live a positive and productive life. It is my hope that you will allow me to provide you services to begin this collaborative journey of self- discovery.
