You’re living day to day trying to simply get by, juggling your relationships and responsibilities and feeling like you’re barely keeping your head above water. Your marriage might be hanging on by a thread, or you may be struggling with depression or anxiety you can’t seem to escape. Maybe you’re a trauma survivor and struggling to work through your past experiences or a first responder experiencing anxiety every time a call comes in. Things are hard right now, but you know that there’s more to life than sleepless nights and anxiety-filled days.

Our world is continuing to change “We are dealing with collective loss of the world we knew”… ”This is grief.” David Kessler, MD. As we acknowledge these changes, we may find ourselves sad, anxious, irritable, and lonely. The external disconnection and stress we are experiencing in the environment may mirror our own internal experiences. Depression, anxiety, and relationship issues often accompany drastic changes.

You are ready for a real change. You have tried toughing it out, “forgetting” about it, and doing the best you could to cope but it only helps temporarily and you can’t seem to shake off the negative feelings. Overtime your mind is consumed with negative thoughts and ruminations. You try to be strong and fulfill your daily activities as usual but mentally and physically you feel drained. You are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or other issues that make it difficult to feel happy and fulfilled. You wonder if therapy can help you and how long it will take to feel better.

We all suffer, there is nothing wrong with you. Counseling is a collaborative process that we, you and I, use to actively construct a way of living. Sometimes our conversations will reveal previously unseen solutions. Anything that I propose is yours to question, modify, elaborate, or reject. You are a unique person who knows what has worked and what has not worked in the past. Life is an ongoing practice, made more meaningful and less confusing when engaged in authentic dialogue with others. Maybe, through shared inquiry, we can discover new possibilities. I would be honored to visit with you and find our way together.

I help millennial women get unstuck. Many women promise themselves they’ll do things differently from now on - and find themselves stuck in the same spot 6 months later. Life’s too short to let your past keep disrupting your future. Life in the modern world can put on an immense amount of pressure. I can help you overcome anxiety, depression, and the things that are holding you back from living out your potential.

I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2011 and I am a LADC (Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor). I have helped individuals transform their lives by teaching them effective coping skills. I help clients identify behavioral patterns that prevent them from progressing. I help them increase self-care, self-esteem, self-worth and ways to add value to their lives. Throughout the therapy experience clients learn to implement healthy boundaries, increase communication skills and add mindfulness techniques to their daily routine.

Sometimes life brings us experiences that are less than ideal. Afterwards, we can be left feeling lost, sad, lonely, afraid - it may feel overwhelming, like nothing will ever be okay again. Other times, things may be going just fine, but you find yourself wanting more, wanting to know yourself on a deeper level and find wholeness in a way you have not been able to before. As a depth-oriented counselor, I have passion for clients in both groups. People who crave healing from any of life’s wounds and people who crave more depth and meaning in their lives.

My approach to mental health counseling is very simple, one that encompasses unconditional positive regard and that encourages self-exploration throughout the therapeutic encounter. The client is considered the expert of his/her own life who may need support when challenges or obstacles become overwhelming and/or problematic (maladaptive). Through this therapeutic collaboration clients learn to identify how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors may positively or negatively impact their daily experience. If problematic belief patterns are identified, the client will co-create a treatment plan aimed to reduce the negative symptomatology while enhancing the client's self-esteem and overall well-being.

It is often that when we hit our lowest points, the most incredible progress can be made. If you are at one of those points currently, please understand that there is hope in any circumstance and you choosing to seek counsel is a fantastic step forward. I chose to go into this field to walk alongside anyone that aims for understanding, healing, self-awareness, or just someone to walk with.

Life is hard sometimes. It rarely meets our expectations and sometimes feels like everything is just plain falling apart. Sometimes just getting your head above water feels like the fight of your life. Whether it is a marriage on the brink of destruction, crippling emotions, or just feeling stuck, I want to help you experience freedom and hope. We will start by working to identify what is in the way of the life you desire. Gaining insight to your own life is powerful and is often the first step to freedom. As we continue journeying through these insights, we will begin working on steps to change the patterns you want to change.

How can I find a therapist in Oklahoma City?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
