As a Marriage and Family Therapist who is licensed in both Colorado and California, I have two Masters degrees: a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Masters of Divinity (a three-year ministerial academic training) both earned from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California that has been coined “The Princeton of the West”. I use a "systems" approach to marriage and family therapy which means I view each person as part of a whole.

Hi there! I'm the owner of Pollema Counseling Center, and I'm dedicated to fostering healing and promoting a culture of health and well-being in our community. I approach my work with compassion, intentionality, and directness. I believe people come to therapy to be challenged and encouraged to make change. I aim to create a secure therapeutic space for you to address challenges and promote mental health. I am a big advocate for therapy homework and often collaborate with my clients on unique ways to implement their therapeutic work.

I am a man of faith, a motorcycle rider, a runner, a reader, and one or two other things outside of counseling, just in case we still haven't connected. In counseling and support groups, I’ve spent most of my time helping people face addictions, trauma, and all the relationships in between. I often rely on the AASAT addiction training and EMDR to help people move towards their change.

Life will inevitably bring up intense emotions and feelings: shame, fear, confusion, etc. Overwhelming pressure, life transitions, past trauma, or simply the burden of daily stressors can pile on you until it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. When overwhelmed, you may find it relatively impossible to maintain close relationships with family, friends, and significant others. This can create a vicious cycle of anxiety, isolation, and hopelessness. It can feel like you have no way out of this bleak season.

Life's been throwing a lot at you, and it feels like there's never a moment to catch your breath. I’m here to support you as you slow down, breathe, and find the space to process your life. I support clients who are navigating through trauma, anxiety, shame, loneliness, and hopelessness. Life has its seasons, and sometimes we get stuck in one for longer than we'd like.
