Welcome to my therapy practice. We can all feel 'stuck' or overwhelmed at times, and our lives can be impacted by negative behavioral patterns, difficulty in relationships, and ongoing struggles with pain and suffering. Therapy is a process where, as partners, we move towards having a deeper understanding of yourself, your feelings and reactions, and your relationships. We will work to improve your ability to cope with challenges, to make progress towards personal goals, and to experience positive changes that allow increased satisfaction with self, life, and relationships. I look forward to starting this process with you!
We are a collaborative practice including Licensed and Resident Marriage and Family Therapists. Accepting Waitlist Clients. So much of our lives is spent facing challenges that we often do not feel equipped to overcome on our own – have you ever felt the desire, deep down, to grow and achieve but feel held back by self-doubt, fear, anxiety, and insecurity? I know I have. It is my belief that, with the right support, tools, and inner dialogue, people are capable of improving how they show up in their lives. It is my philosophy that we can never underestimate the value of our past experiences and we will focus on drawing upon your strengths and resilience to help you navigate life’s challenges and tap into your potential.
Even in the best of times each phase of development brings specific challenges for children and adolescents. Mental health conditions, developmental delays, trauma, as well as seemingly routine events, such as changing schools, can make these developmental milestones much more difficult to navigate for both children and their families. Behaviors can escalate, relationships suffer, and grades drop. Often times children and adolescents are resistant to traditional talk therapy. Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) combines traditional therapy techniques and an interactive partnership between clients and their horse partner.
Have you tried to figure out which is the the right path for you? Are you having challenges in a relationship? Would you like to talk about how to cope through another life transition? My focus is to assist you with deciding the path that you would like to follow, acknowledging the reasons that you are motivated to follow that path, identifying and learning the steps to follow that path, and supporting you as you continue on your life’s journey.
I work with children from 3 to 18 as well as adults, couples and families with issues such as trauma histories, anxiety, depression, school issues, self-esteem issues, anger management, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, divorce issues, family conflict and parenting. My goal is to provide a safe space where children and adults can feel free to express themselves and in that process develop self-awareness and a skill set to improve relationships with themselves and with others. I do this in a non-judgmental, compassionate and caring way to promote healing and transformation.
Life can be challenging and at times we all need support for ourselves, our families, and our loved ones. For many of us, the hardest part is making the first phone call to ask for help. If you are feeling overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, depression or struggling with other difficult emotions that are hindering your personal growth or interfering with your relationships then take the first step to change.
I have an interest in depression, anxiety, self-harm/ suicidal ideation, women's issues, LGBTQIA+ issues, disability and chronic illness, infertility, self-improvement, social justice, body image issues and I am gender affirming and sex/kink positive. I believe that finding a therapist can be like buying a pair of shoes - you need to find the one that fits. While I primarily use a cognitive-behavioral orientation with my clients, my focus has always been on using techniques that fit each specific client. I enter into a therapeutic relationship with the belief that each client possesses the power to change and can learn ways to bring about change and relief to his or her situation. Change is always possible if the choice is to do so. To set up an appointment, please call instead of emailing me.
