I have professional training in DBT, CBT, Domestic Violence, Spirituality, Eating Disorders, Bereavement, Women's Issues, Marriage and Family and Career Counseling.
I believe a core element of growth lies in the understanding that the only thing you have control over is your thinking and response to any given situation. I seek to provide an atmosphere of non-judgmental support so that you can educate and empower yourself to no longer believe your happiness and contentment lies in anything outside yourself. I invite you, from the heart, to start your journey and discover how to take charge of your wellbeing.

I have experience working with young adults and adults surrounding trauma/PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety, relationships, LGBTQIA+ identity exploration, perinatal mental health, life transitions, and eating disorders.
Life moves so quickly! We seldom take time to pause, reflect, and observe the beauty in and around us. Instead, we tend to ruminate about the past or obsess about the future, robbing us of present moment awareness. Therapeutic space provides the unique opportunity to remedy this —if we can simply be present, we learn to work meaningfully with the thoughts and emotions which arise, and we find direction and new possibilities. My hope is to be a source of safety, insight, and clarification as we help you find your way.

I work with individuals who are navigating grief and loss, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, life transitions and identity development. In therapy, I balance addressing symptoms and looking beyond the surface to address the underlying emotions driving behavioral and interpersonal patterns. By learning new adaptive coping strategies and gaining insight into the early development of current emotional wounds or maladaptive behaviors, clients can feel empowered to create positive change.

I see clients with Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, grief issues, and many other issues.
I want you to know what an important step you are taking to make changes in your life. Counseling can be amazing and scary at times but well worth the effort you put into it. Choosing a counselor is the first step in taking charge of your emotional health. I believe that our mind, body, and soul are connected and when one is out of step, the others are too. Life can be rough at times but I would love to help you through it. I also conduct speaking engagements to educate different groups on mental health topics.

I have spent years working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, eating concerns, work/career issues, grief and loss, relationship concerns, and difficulty with major life changes.
If you're struggling, you owe it to yourself and those around you - your partner, children, colleagues, friends - to take a step toward change. If you're like many people, you are in a constant balancing act. Whether your struggle is managing the day-to-day stresses of life or a more specific concern, talking with someone who will really listen, getting support, and having help to consider your options can make a tremendous difference.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
