I believe every person has the strength and resources to live a joyful life. Together, we can determine healthy strategies for you to better cope, grow and make positive changes.

Welcome. My approach to therapy revolves around compassion, hope, and finding renewed meaning in life. I strive to help people release pain from the past, and worries about the future, so that they can find peace and fulfillment in everyday life. My style is personable and warm, and I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities based on what will be most helpful to each person. When applicable, I enjoy exploring the mind-body connection through both cognitive and somatic therapeutic approaches, which is largely influenced by my interest in mindfulness, attachment, and neurobiology perspectives.

Since the very beginning of my career, the most consistent feedback is of feeling safe and truly understood. Using gentleness mixed with honesty, I will call you forward to better. Clients return, often years later. And if I'm not the right fit, I will just say so.

I am an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator Supervisor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in working with individuals of all abilities in areas of sexuality, gender identity, relationship building, intimacy, communication and trauma.

We all deserve to experience meaningful shifts in our lives. Society Today is faced with multiple Life stressors ranging from Financial, Marital, Relational, issues with employment and or Life In General. Through Therapy, an Individualized Improvement Plan can be devised and implemented to assist individuals with coping and possibly overcoming the issues they are facing. Adolescents and Teens are complicated, and I am eager to assist. Teen groups are available as well as individualized treatment. Two people working together are always better than one. As a therapist I have learned the more input a client contributes to their therapeutic goals the better the outcomes and success possibility.

I want to help you enjoy your life. I believe there are skills available that can help you achieve this goal. I have experience working with adults and adolescents who find it difficult to control their emotions, problems in relationships, and have self-harm or suicidal thoughts.

I am a Psychotherapist/ Art Therapist/ Psychoanalyst with 15 years experience working with children and adults. Therapy is an important step towards facing and working through our greatest challenges in life. It facilitates growth, acceptance, and understanding. Sometimes life throws us a curveball or two. Some people have been dealt a difficult card from the start. I believe we all possess the tools needed to get through times of adversity, but at times, may need a little guidance. One of the many things I love about working as a social worker is the diversity and uniqueness of people I have met over the years, meeting them where they are in life and learning from their experiences. The majority of my career includes working with children, adolescents and adults in a school, hospital, and community mental health setting focusing on suicide prevention, depression, and anxiety.

I work with adults who want to make changes, deal with anxiety, depression, old hurts and current stressors. I work with parents struggling with parenting anxiety, feeling bad or worried about the ways your children are affected by some of these challenging times. And I work with adolescents who aren’t sure how to take their next steps.

You're feeling like something is wrong. You're afraid this is what life is like now, your new normal. You don't recognize yourself. Maybe you don't know where or when things went left, maybe you do. Either way, you're angry and sad and confused. You're thinking it might be your fault.

Using a client-centered approach, I enjoy working with people who are experiencing in career changes, creative endeavors, women's issues, including pregnancy and postpartum, and in guiding recovery from trauma. I have experience working with individuals and couples through life transitions, including gender identity and sexuality exploration (LGBTQIA+) and in helping alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. Since the pandemic, I've enjoyed working with healthcare workers, as they have given so much the past 2+ years.

I have over 25 years of clinical experience providing counseling therapy to adult individuals, children, adolescents, families, and couples to address their emotional and behavioral struggles. I utilize a cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, goal directed, reality based treatment approach, integrating family dynamics as needed, to help clients effectively resolve or learn to cope with their struggles. I am available to coordinate with schools and other treatment providers. My office at Truman & Main St on the Independence Square offers a convenient, unassuming, confidential, and relaxing environment.
