Dr. Debra Zand, founder and co-owner of Midwest Psychological Services LLC, is a clinical psychologist with 20+ years of experience working with children and their families. She has particular expertise in conducting comprehensive psychological testing, as well as individual and family therapies. Dr. Zand uses an integrative, playful approach to conducting therapy She routinely see families to address: adoption issues, attachment, developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, parent-child relationship struggles, self-regulation difficulties, communication struggles, divorce, and remarriage.

But sometimes despite your best efforts, your child continues to struggle with behavioral problems, peer relationships, family changes, deficits in social/emotional development, aftermath of traumatic experiences, or mental health challenges. My training and experience in issues related to trauma, mental health, and attachment position me well to serve the needs of your family.
My clients are experiencing conflict, emotional abuse, anxiety, addiction, depression, or grief. I see individuals and couples who are ready to change or are looking for help sorting out what to do. Some have been hurt deeply by a breach of trust. Others are dealing with devastating adult or childhood trauma. Through my training and professional background as an attorney and counselor, I help them find a path to recovery. Clients gain clarity and insight, and learn to manage anxiety, depression, grief, fear and traumatic memories. I am formally trained in CBT, EMDR, DBT and have taught marriage counseling at the graduate level.
I enjoy working with a variety of clients. My goal is to assist individuals and families deal more effectively with stress, anxiety, depression, and overall everyday problems. Finding someone to listen objectively and effectively is difficult to find. As your counselor, you will have my undivided attention and expertise to help you resolve or better understand your individual needs and mental health problems. I have over 25 years of professional licensure and training in the mental health field. I have been a Missouri professional licensed counselor since 1996.

I use humor, compassion and unconditional support to help individuals, couples and families work through a variety of presenting issues. My goal is to help clients resolve the main problem in therapy and help them gain additional strengths and insights in their lives.
