The challenges of life can impact how we function in our relationships with our partner/spouse, our children, and the people we encounter daily. However, you can begin a therapeutic exploration that will fundamentally improve your mental health. The decision to begin a therapeutic journey can be very rewarding. I support my client's therapeutic goals by making them feel seen and heard. I believe you are the expert on you, so I collaborate with you to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. Together we can work to achieve life-changing mental health.

I believe that times of crisis can also be times of transition and development. As a therapist, I strive to help clients put family and individual crises in the proper perspective, so they can begin to mobilize their own resources for change. Acceptance and insight into oneself and one's situation are powerful tools that therapy can enhance, both for adults and children of all ages. I have years of therapy experience helping clients cope with painful and difficult situations, including addiction/compulsions, damaged relationships, bereavement/loss, and abuse. The first session can be a powerful and positive step.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Counseling allows individuals to better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change. Counseling is a collaborative process that involves a confidential and professional relationship between client and therapist. We work objectively to clarify issues, gain insight into thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and to deal effectively with these obstacles in a healthy way.

With children I use an integrative mindfulness and play therapy approach.
My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, non-judgmental, affirming space for all clients. I value the unique lived experiences and identities each of my clients bring to the therapy space and I want them to feel both seen and heard when they come to therapy. I have a passion to work with vulnerable and marginalized populations and absolutely love working with children.

Unique to our group is collaborative therapeutic and testing services for children and adults.
Are you chronically worried and/or unhappy -- and can't "snap out of it?" Maybe you're stuck. Perhaps you feel lonely and misunderstood. I'd like to give you personal attention, understand you, and provide you warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental support and guidance. Together, we can identify and understand the causes of your pain, reinstill hope, and find ways for you to cope and regain pleasure in the here-and-now. My research on loss and mother-daughter relationships strengthens my work with individuals; couples; gender issues; parenting; anxiety and depression; and adjustment to loss and overall life changes.

I work with children and their parents to improve relationships and recognize strength.
Human beings have amazing potential to make great change. Sometimes a person needs someone to support them in their journey. I specialize in working with children, teens, young adults, couples, and families. I provide support to parents as they encounter the constant transitions of parenthood and address their needs so they may better equip their children for the outside world. I guide children as they adapt to constant growth, teens through the various transitions of adolescence, and young adults in their push towards independence. I work with adults to attain greater emotional well-being and achievement in their lives.

I specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents and women dealing with depression, anxiety, social skills deficits, stress management, infertility and pregnancy loss.
Each and every person is born with unique strengths and vast potential to achieve. Oftentimes, though, life's challenges get in the way. It may be external stressors, traumatic experiences or our own dysfunctional thoughts and patterns of behavior that make it difficult to live a satisfying and fulfilling life. Entering into a therapeutic relationship of acceptance and trust can serve as a turning point for achieving growth and change.

Providing a strong voice for children as an advocate for special needs, medical issues, and chronic stress is also a part of my passion.
Whichever way life's twists and turns take you, I am here to provide stability, safety, and a comforting platform from which to work through these sometimes life-changing, overwhelming events. I am a therapist that has been in practice in this community for over 10 years. I especially enjoy working with children, teens, and their families to promote better communication, support from past traumas, self-esteem, or functioning within the family. My focus with couples is also on communication-from evaluating and understanding communication styles to utilizing communication to improve functioning for the entire family.

Her interests include stress reduction, barriers experienced in single motherhood, early behavior intervention, child/parent conflict, family dynamics, interpersonal conflicts, personality disorders, work/life/career balance, and trauma.
To LIVE after Trauma and Grief was the smartest choice I've made Learning to LOVE as a Parent and Single Woman, feels freeing Having LIFE with Relational Purpose is a class all Its own After 35 years of life experience, 7 years of experience in field of mental health, 4 years as a Licensed Therapist, and continuing education as a 5th year doctoral student I have been able to create a program that eases the stigma of seeing a therapist. Through the recognition of new self-awareness, clients will work towards their goals through her directive and active guidance.

Child Therapists
Child psychologists in Illinois provide mental health therapy to children and are experts in child development.

Every comprehensive review of therapy with children shows that all credible approaches, when performed by a competent mental health clinician, produce almost the same results. About half of all kids will get better. Of those that improve, 80% will show progress in a relatively short time (likely in fewer than six sessions), the remaining 20% will need longer-term support.

The best child therapists in Illinois build great relationships with the child and the parent. They also see the child's strengths and are open to hearing the child's possible solutions to the challenges the child faces. Finally, a good therapist appreciates the child's culture and is sensitive to the values of the child's community.
