It's hard to make changes and it helps to have someone experienced in that process to guide and support you. Optimal healing and growth involve all the parts of the self -- body, mind and spirit. With over 20 years of experience, I offer holistic psychotherapy grounded in the principles established by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, nutritional and integrative medicine for mental health, and yoga therapy for individuals, couples and small groups. Whether you utilize one, some, or all of these approaches, they are designed to help you on your path to vitality, spaciousness and wholeness.

So, you've already done the scariest part of this whole process, which is deciding that you want support and taking action. That takes incredible strength and humility, even if you may not feel that way right now. From here, it's my job to work together with you to find ways to channel that strength towards the goals you have and help reframe the way you're approaching challenges through support, humor, and compassion.

I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking help for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, parenting, eating disorders, and codependency. I tend to combine treatment approaches (i.e. cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, psychodynamic) to fit the need of the client. I see my role as coming alongside each individual on their walk of life, and feel privileged to be invited into the personal space of my clients.

How are various choices, self-beliefs, coping styles, and relationships combined with any mental health challenges in your life impacting you? Are they moving you toward your personal values and goals? Can you readily identify what those even are? By seeking to understand past influences, non-functional coping behaviors and core beliefs, and building helpful skills and boundaries, we'll work together towards self-acceptance and forward movement. My approach draws from behavioral change approaches of CBT and DBT modalities as well as person-centered and Adlerian therapies.

If you are feeling stuck and uncertain how to make changes therapy can help. I work with adults and adolescents to overcome doubt, change unhealthy patterns, improve relationships, and find healthy ways to cope. For some that means approaching the things they avoid, taking down emotional walls, changing their substance use, gaming/internet use, or other unhealthy behaviors. I specialize in anxiety and mood issues, substance use, addictive behaviors, and men's issues. The practice website provides additional info about my experience and approach. If you would like to connect to help determine fit, I offer a free phone consultation .

Are you struggling to navigate a world designed for neurotypicals? Impulse control, forgetfulness and sensory issues can often impact the ability to fully engage in school, the workplace or our relationships. Do these issues affect your sense of self and self-acceptance? Perhaps you have a child, sibling, or partner who is neurodivergent. Often it can be a struggle to understand their unique needs resulting in increased stress and often an inability to connect with loved ones. Ever ask yourself, “How do I do this?” If any of this resonates with you, you are not alone.

I specialize in working with women who work really hard to make sure everything looks okay on the outside when it doesn’t feel that way on the inside. Clients who come to me are often overwhelmed with pressure to get things perfect and struggle with feeling “enough”, some experiencing imposter syndrome. They often feel an imbalance in their lives and are quick to sacrifice self-care for others or in the face of stress. They feel their emotions strongly and sometimes feel controlled by them, leaving them often emotionally and physically drained. My clients are ready to create change in their lives and feel more peace of mind.

Starting on a course of healing takes courage, but it is one of the most rewarding things we can do for ourselves. We have all been hurt at different times, and those hurt parts of ourselves are very grateful when we give them some loving attention and start the healing process. We unconsciously create blocks to our own health, but we can also learn to gently release those blocks. We are actually hard-wired for loving ourselves, believe it or not, even those parts we don't like, are afraid of, or are embarrassed about, and that self-love is healing. Therapy is not an instant process, but is very worthwhile.
