Therapists Beginning With K in Illinois
My name is Binta, and I am a black Muslim therapist. As the daughter of Senegalese immigrants, I understand the challenges that come with being a first- and second-generation American, particularly when it comes to navigating the waters of gender identity, sexuality, class, and religion. Regardless of your identities, the center of my work lies in the co-creation of a collaborative therapeutic relationship with each client to support and empower each of them to grow and realize their potential. Through a trauma-informed and values-based lens, I believe that therapy can be a powerful tool in the face of life’s challenges.

I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking greater self understanding, meaning, and connection in their lives. My hope is to build a relationship with you that is personal, genuine, and centers your needs and goals; whether that is related to stressors and worries, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and more. This foundation can allow us to recognize what patterns, cycles, and blocks you might be facing, what change can look like going forward, and how to achieve that.

“While we can’t go back and create a new beginning, we can start today and shape a new ending.”
Life isn’t always easy, even when everything “looks fine” on the outside. You may be feeling overwhelmed, unfocused, anxious, or stuck in a rut. Maybe you're facing a major life change, navigating burnout, or questioning your direction in work or relationships. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, ADHD, or stress from a demanding career, family or life transition, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Couples therapy has been found to be least effective of all therapies, thus it is important for clients to seek out therapists who are versed in the latest research on couples and marital therapy. The unique couples approach I co-created with my wife, called the Couples Synergy model, has helped thousands of couples internationally for over 25 years.

Whether you are a student, a working individual, or just feeling stuck, I provide a supportive space for all where you feel understood and reassured that you are not alone in your journey.
