I give my clients a safe space to talk where they can identify obstacles and work to become more hopeful, empowered and grounded in their lives. By exploring your thoughts & feelings, we will be able to move you forward and help you to find the support you need.

My experience includes working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, learning how manage stress, trauma, and PSTD.
The aftermath of coronavirus (COVID-19) is going to be a contributing factor to deteriorating people’s mental health (including suicide) and it will get even worse as we work towards recovering from this pandemic. The pandemic has impacted us globally and economically shedding light on systemic and institutional racism that disproportionately limits resources and access to heath care depending on our zip code. I provide therapeutic therapy and support to help folks navigate through this “New Normal” we all are faced with adapting to along with working through issues such as anxiety, depression, frustration, and trauma.

There is more to life than struggling with anxiety, depression, and other distressing emotions.
You're dissatisfied with yourself and your life. You may be coping with a recent trauma or something from your past. Perhaps you're frustrated with your lack of career advancement or difficulties finding a meaningful relationship. It seems like you're behind the curve and maybe you'll never catch up with your peers. Yet, there is hope. You can achieve real change by solidifying your innate strengths and exploring the roots of whatever is causing you pain. In therapy, we will have a safe space to look at what's on your mind. There may be challenges as we rebuild your patterns to align better with your goals.

This may look like restructuring anxious thought patterns, setting healthy boundaries, or processing a traumatic experience.
Struggling with anxiety and physical discomfort that you can't seem to get a grip on? Are you feeling misunderstood and not sure who to turn to for support? Have you hoped for these feelings to pass so you can move forward with your life? I want you to know that healing is very much possible, even if you are feeling stuck.

Many of us can identify with feeling stuck inside negative thought patterns that leave us inhibited by self doubt, fear and anxiety. Unfortunately we live in a society that can often feel unsupportive, leading us to feel isolated and alone with our feelings. Past hurts can create a sense of shame and self blame that hold us back from achieving our goals. We find ourselves repeating behaviors we’d like to change, but don’t know where to begin or how to do that. The idea of actual change can feel overwhelming or even impossible, but it's not. We do not choose our feelings, but we can choose how we address them.

I work with high achievers to cultivate peaceful moments ( anxiety).
My clients want to work with me to achieve their goals and resolve any conflict they are experiencing in their life. I enjoy working with clients experiencing depression and anxiety, OCD, addictive behaviors, eating disorders (specialize), difficult life experiences, trauma, ASD, medically compromised family issues, chronic mental health issues. I truly enjoy helping my clients with grief and loss so that they can move on from grief while holding onto their loved ones/or things. I like family involvement or family work because I look at barriers as a family of origin issue and a family goal, not just the “identified patient”.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
