I am a warm, affirming, and empowering therapist. I graduated with my Master’s of Science degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. I obtained my clinical hours working in foster care & adoption and inpatient forensic psych. I have several years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and children that experience depression, anxiety, trauma, mood/psychotic disorders, plus issues with identity, relationships, family, medical, grief/loss, and others.
Life can throw you in different directions sometimes but you don't have to do it alone. I am a warm and dedicated therapist interested in your holistic well-being. I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, depression, family conflicts, relationship issues, job performance, creative blockage, and low self-esteem. I support clients of all ethnic, cultural, and immigrant backgrounds. I would love to work with you in digging through the rubbles of life's complexities and finding your peace within.
Have you been in therapy and had mixed results, or, you’ve wanted to go deeper? Or, are you new to therapy and looking for a holistic approach? I go beyond traditional talk therapy by integrating the mind, body, and spirit (not a faith-based approach). I specialize in trauma (ancestral, sexual, emotional), relationships, anxiety, depression, addiction, eating, sleep, grief, mindfulness, and creativity. I'll help you identify and release negative thoughts and unbeneficial patterns while applying practical new changes in your life, this is not spiritual bypassing.
In these challenging times, I believe the exploration of our experience of being and the understanding of our longing for meaningful connections with others can be a driving force toward change. In our work in therapy we will deepen the understanding of yourself, discover what you want and need from others, and how to solve issues of the past that are still alive today. Together, we will explore how old patterns get in the way, and work toward a personal narrative that is based in self-compassion, acceptance, and human connection.
I pride myself in a comfortable, person-centered approach to therapy. The tone of my sessions are casual and conversational, yet thoroughly clinical. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to be a practiced ear to guide you in exploring your desires, fears, strengths, and challenges. Working together, we can explore the difficulties of the past, the uncertainty of the present, and the possibilities of the future.
At this time, unfortunately I am not taking new clients. I hope to have increased availability in the fall. I believe the most important aspect in therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist. I take a collaborative approach and have a warm, engaging style. My goal is to help clients be their most authentic selves and feel more connected in their lives. Many people struggle because of traumas, losses, poor self-esteem, and difficulties with life transitions. We can work together to repair and heal old wounds, using a combination of approaches tailored to your needs.
I have worked with people experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship and interpersonal issues. I approach therapy with an understanding that I'm learning from the person I'm working with because each individual has their own story. It's important to me that a safe space is created for you to be authentic, self-reflective, and self-aware.
My approach to treatment is to focus on the person and where they are currently struggling. It is important for everyone to have an outlet and a way to engage in daily self care and coping skills. Recognizing triggers and building boundaries are essential for our wellness. I understand that deciding to come to therapy is a huge decision and a choice that is not always easy.
Life can be overwhelming. Sometimes we get stuck in negative thinking patterns that affect our drive, our motivation and our overall behaviors. These thoughts can leave us feeling depressed, angry or anxious. Therapy can be an effective way to look at how our thought patterns affect our feelings which affect the way we behave. By working on skills and exploring our thoughts we can work towards regaining emotional health and balance in our life.
Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, sexual dysfunction, or relationship issues? Regardless of the severity of your problems, I am confident that I can help. Often clients are reluctant to contact a psychologist because they are afraid of what to expect. Meeting with me is in many ways like talking to a knowledgeable, good friend. You will quickly see that I love being a clinical psychologist. I limit the number of clients I see each week so that each person receives the optimal level of personalized care.

When events happen too quickly, and are too much, we may wisely shut parts of ourselves down and hold around what is difficult or painful. But if holding becomes our automatic way of being, even as circumstances change, we may feel increasingly disconnected and less alive. I offer a trauma-focused somatic approach to bring awareness to our patterns of protection, and find ways to reshape our felt experience, and our relationships, around safety, presence, and connection. As we reorganize around experiences of safety and connection, we engage the profound work of opening to our life.
Therapy can help you work through problems that feel too big or overwhelming to tackle alone. Together, in a warm and confidential space, we can begin to explore what is making you feel anxious or stuck without judgement or fear. In therapy with me, you will be seen as an individual person with unique desires and experiences, not a collection of symptoms or issues. In session, you can expect liveliness and candor as we discuss the things you wish to explore: relationships, work, worries, goals and sense of self.
UPDATE: Limited evening availability beginning October 2022. Often our deepest wounds have relational origin. Despite our best efforts to create change, we can often feel overwhelmed and defeated amidst the demands of each day. By focusing on developing a healthy relationship between therapist and client, we can create a secure space to understand your concerns more fully. Over time, the hurt and pain can be found and even transformed.
The primary goal of psychotherapy is to allow you to come closer to the person you'd like to be. This means exploring and discovering your values and aligning your life more closely with those values. I have been practicing for ten years, helping people with a wide variety of struggles, find relief and grow to be the people they want to be. Using techniques that help you to understand and change problematic life patterns, I emphasize finding your strengths and allowing those to be the foundation of your growth.
I work best with Individuals and couples in recovery from addiction as well as those families and friends affected by the chaos born of addiction. I work often with those who are in the midst of big life transitions; with self esteem issues; and individuals and couples who have difficulty with intimacy. Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Are you finally ready to make some changes? Are you willing to take a long, compassionate look at how you got to this point and what steps you will need to take to begin a process of change?

We are living in a time of peak stress. It's only natural that we feel down, anxious, and burned out. However, that doesn't mean we can't find relief. Through online therapy, I will work with you to address life's problems and find joy again without having to travel to an office. Online therapy (i.e., teletherapy or virtual therapy) allows you to attend one-on-one sessions from the comfort of your home or other convenient location at a time that works for you.

I will be your partner, advocate, and inner voice on your journey to peace, contentment, and self fulfillment. I will also provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment to explore the core of your true self.
