My career background before pursuing a Master of Arts in counseling was as an RN and then as executive director of a nonprofit women's ministry focused on eating disorders and other co-existing conditions. When assessing a client I try to take in the whole person: body, mind, and spirit, considering how each of these components is impacting the others. If a client chooses, I am willing to incorporate Christian faith-based counseling, in addition to a mix of therapeutic approaches. I also provide couples and family counseling. I have been married for 37 years and we have three grown children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 doodle-pups.

If you are struggling with marital and/or family issues, alcoholism, depression, anxiety, stress, and/or end of life issues, please know there is hope and healing for you. You may have a teen that is challenged emotionally or socially, and would rather see a clinician through telehealth, I'm available in the afternoons and evenings too. I am using Telehealth, which gives you more flexibility with your schedule. It is a safe, comfortable way to get help. I have over 25 years of varying experience in the Social Work profession. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia since 1996.

Private pay sessions for 60$ dollars, couples 75$, I take most insurance and the insurance I accept is increasing. I have experience of over 35 years expert professional, licensed in 3 states, CA, VA and WA. Currently in the Wash DC area on assignment with the DOD working with Military Families and providing therapy virtually to clients in California and Washington State. I'm a certified expert provider in CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Drug and Alcohol Recovery, Family Dynamics and specialist and a DOD consult in Combat, childhood trauma, PTSD Psychotherapy. I also provided Christian counseling upon request.

I have been working in the field of eating disorders & trauma since 2008 and I am committed to help client’s understand and fully overcome their illness so that they have peace within their mind, body, and spirit. I earned her Bachelors of Arts at Rutgers University and Masters of Science at Columbia University. In 2017 I became a certified eating disorder specialist and supervisor and currently hold a leadership role in that organization. I am energetic, passionate, and dedicated to empowering individuals and families who are impacted by eating disorders and mental health and hope to walk along side you in your recovery process.

I have enjoyed wide-ranging training and employment in many settings, including supervising a county-wide suicide hotline, in an adolescent residential facility, intensive outpatient and in-home therapy. I have worked in diverse settings, such as Johns Hopkins Methadone/Suboxone program and for an AZ Native Tribal Nation.
