Lesley Rickman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in trauma-informed care. She has extensive training in EMDR, LENS Neurofeedback, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and utilizes these approaches, among others, in her work with clients. With a focus on holistic healing and a deep understanding of the impact of trauma on the mind and body, Lesley is dedicated to helping her clients achieve lasting transformation and improved well-being. So many of us are suffering alone from common problems of everyday life: loneliness, grief, depression, anxiety, self-contempt, a love obsession, domestic violence, impotence, irritability, relational issues etc. With so much longing and pain that is easily accessible, I am available and wholeheartedly dedicated to helping clients uncover the roots of these everyday problems. We all have mental health issues at some point in our lives. Traumatic events or life transitions can certainly overwhelm and create crisis in our lives. In therapy sessions we work on issues and emotions that overwhelm like stress, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, abuse and/or neglect or abandonment. Alcohol and drug addiction are common ways that some people try to cope with these emotions. Addiction destroys relationships. Therapy should not be feared. You are not alone. My specialization of practice includes trauma, and varied mental health issues. I seek to provide a safe, comfortable space for counseling where clients feel supported, heard and can be open to learn about themselves and embrace the journey of change. To better serve those I work with, I have begun to incorporate EMDR and Sand tray to address many issues in the therapeutic setting. I also have experience with use of CBT, TFCBT, DBT and will use the modality that best suits the need of the person I am working with. I tend to be solution focused in my approach but choose the best approach for each individual client.

I primarily see men and women who are dealing with problems relating to anxiety and/or depression. Many of the people I treat are dealing with overwhelming life issues. During therapy we process these issues and practice strategies designed to give you coping skills you can use for your current and future situations. I am trained to provide relief on a wide variety of pressures, including, but not limited to anger and communication difficulties, grief and loss, history of trauma, adult recovery from child abuse, divorce, change of life issues, relationship conflict and men's and women's issues.

Therapy is an experience that I have seen from both sides, as a client and clinician. This is why my approach comes from an empathic, relative point of view. My belief is that a client knows more about what they need better than anyone else. However, we all need guidance and assistance at times to help unlock our potential. I have learned that each client has their own set of core beliefs, maladaptive coping skills, and a significant barrier to obtaining the life we deserve. As a result, we can work to change these unhealthy behaviors one may use to numb and escape feelings that are destructive and harmful together.
