I specialize in the treatment of those suffering from Anxiety, OCD, Trichotillomania (hair pulling), and related disorders. I treat clients anywhere from 10 years old to adults. I use a cognitive behavioral therapy approach that is tailored to each individual person. I am formally trained in exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD and habit reversal training (HRT) for Trichotillomania and body focused repetitive behaviors.
I have been licensed & practicing since 1995. I provide mental health therapy & also substance abuse therapy to adults. I also provide couples therapy. I have a strength based perspective & believe it is important to recognize strengths as well as vulnerabilities. We are all imperfect & survivors. I think the benefits of therapy are perspective, accountability, support and growth. I think therapy should go beyond insight to include self awareness & ultimately a sense of choice in how we respond to the challenges of life. I can teach skills and techniques that are well grounded in long established & proven approaches.
Therapy is a process that takes time. It starts with clients understanding their story through the lens of attachment and how early adaptions show up both as powerful solutions and frustrating obstacles. Growth occurs as clients reprocess those adaptations and open new pathways to new healthy ways of living and relating to others.
Self-love starts and ends with the dialogue we have with ourselves. - Kathryn Eisman. Have you experienced a traumatic event that you struggle to cope with? Do you find yourself constantly engaging in negative self-talk.? Do you feel stuck due to the need for everything to be perfect? Do you find yourself in a constant pattern of non-fulfilling relationships? I can help.
Most people come to therapy knowing that they have something they would like to address. It is my job to help you develop new ways of thinking and being, so that you can get beyond whatever is holding you back in your life. I use an integrative, wholistic approach which draws on the many disciplines in which I have training. Whether you enter therapy wanting to deal with anxiety, past trauma, or addiction, or you just want to function better in daily life, together we can work to meet your goals.
Life is now. We all experience inner and outer obstacles that interfere with living life to its fullest. Growth / progress usually stems from understanding who we are, what needs to change within ourselves and our relationships, learning new ways to heal, forgive, and communicate, and letting go of patterns that interfere. Therapy is unique for each of us. I integrate and tailor various approaches to address the mind, body, and spirit. We will partner together to address your goals. I will bring compassion, creativity, sensitivity, warmth, accountability, and insight to our work together.
The treatment of complex histories of trauma, eating disorders, and attachment disruptions must include interventions that rewire the brain from the bottom up, somatic movement to reintegrate the body with the brain, and a felt sense of safety, in the context of relationship. This provides lasting change for improved regulation, mood, energy, the ability to be present and attune to others. Too many therapies focus on decision making, problem solving, or changing your thoughts. This is not how we are wired to work. It leads to disappointment. My evidenced based interventions promise to be different.
You are probably thinking that something has got to change. You feel stuck, empty, hurt, angry, or just altogether lost in a sea of overwhelming feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. You've been nervous to ask for help, let alone discuss, the difficulties navigating day-to-day struggles of trying to "keep it all together" when things don't feel right at all.
Hi my name is Pamela Keeling-Nuttall of Pamela Keeling-Nuttall Psychotherapy Practice, PLLC. I am a psychotherapist who has been practicing as a therapist for greater than 15+ yrs. As a therapist, I work with clients of all ages, couples and family systems. I am known to be personable, and warm hearted as a person. I am a Cognitive Behavioral Client Centered Therapist, who utilizes ecclectic approaches while working to empower the client to find and utilize their own strengths in working through problems, managing depression, stress and anxiety, and utilize coping strategies/tools that will help to improve client overall functioning.
An ideal patient is one who has suffered adverse childhood experiences of sexual, emotional, physical, and abandonment issues that have disrupted and continue to interfere with daily and interpersonal functioning. Someone with a history of addictive behaviors to cope with trauma. Someone with low self-esteem, lacks confidence, and defined by the trauma. Someone without a sense of self, but has inner strength, courage, resiliency, and motivated to live life fully regardless, and understands that the best gift to loved ones is to be well and happy.
I want to work with you to develop treatment plan that meets your needs. By collaborating we can identify your needs, goals, and struggles and find a path that works for you. I work with clients of all ages, including children and adolescents with a range of issues, including learning disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, depression, and anxiety among others. When working with young people, I also spend time with their parents to talk about the challenges of parents and recommend strategies to deal with the issues you face.
Do you currently struggle with a painful or even traumatic past? I believe in active acceptance as the most effective path towards change. Through a focus on values, clients learn to accept a difficult past towards a vital life in the present. To their credit, most clients have already tried to "get rid of" difficulties before therapy. They typically make the decision when realizing that their well-worn coping tools don't work and they're overwhelmed. Ideal clients are ready to actively engage in a collaborative process challenging them to let go of control/avoidance strategies towards a committed life in the present.
I am a sex and psychedelic therapist providing a holistic, alternative approach. I work with individuals and partners primarily seeking to address sexual goals, work with psychedelics, or want a therapeutic approach that can integrate meditation, tarot, reiki, and somatic (body) work as desired. I see my role in therapy as a facilitator of pleasure and a fellow hand in the dark as we walk towards your innate wisdom, strength, and light.
Now Accepting New Clients. Therapy is a collaborative endeavor. I partner with my clients to discover their goals and to identify the barriers that are obstructing their ability to move forward. It is an honor to be trusted by my clients, to hear their stories, and journey with them as they grow and find meaning in their lives. If you are interested in creating more authenticity in your life, it would be a privilege to partner with you.
The current Covid-19 pandemic is having a profound impact on each of us. Quarantine, news bingeing, job loss & financial worries, and social isolation are increasing anxiety, fear, depression, obsessions & compulsions, substance abuse and even family violence. We are created for relationships and community. This crisis is testing the bounds of these relationships. My counseling approach focuses on healing and strength through emotional, cognitive, and spiritual aspects of relationship through individual and family therapy.
I find it a true honor to have had the opportunity to work for over 25 years with individuals and families in varying levels of distress (inpatient, crisis work, outpatient). I believe that it takes courage to face change and look forward to meeting you and to committing to joining you on your journey. To share my style of compassion and positivity, I take a "glass half full" view of life and pledge to help guide others toward finding their "real truth".
I have known since I was a teenager that I wanted to be a social worker. It was when I was 14 that an LCSW was able to connect with me and help me through a dark depression and the amplified anxiety that often goes along with it. It has been my passion since then to provide that same help to others. I have 15 years of experience working in the mental health field, 10 of those as an LCSW. I have experience with individual therapy and group therapy modalities, both on an outpatient and an inpatient basis.
I am passionate about serving individuals who are motivated to seek treatment for Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma, Mood Disorders, or to receive support through life changes. You may know what you are seeking from the therapeutic process or be interested in learning how therapy could be beneficial. I take a person centered and strengths based approach throughout the care I provide. I am also trained to provide licensure supervision to LMSW's seeking licensure.
I am a licensed mental health counselor with 10 years experience working in the mental health field. I have experience in working with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, or just feel like you are not living life the way you want to, there is hope. Let me help and encourage you in healing and gaining a more positive lifestyle through counseling.
