I am a graduate of a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Degree. Helping others navigate through life's difficult times has always been a passion of mine. I am currently seeing clients in the office as well as telehealth. Ensuring my clients are comfortable and have a non judgmental, safe environment is of utmost importance to me. I understand exposing our deepest darkest secrets, fears, and struggles can be difficult. As a veteran, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals from all walks of life. Hello! My name is Landon. I am a licensed therapist that works with adults and young adults. My approach to therapy is holistic and is individually tailored to meet the needs of my clients. By using an insight-oriented therapeutic approach, I aim to help clients learn not just "how" to cope, but also, why these thoughts/behaviors started to occur. I work in a relaxed, welcoming setting with individuals who are motivated to take a deeper look into themselves. You recognize that you want something different for yourself, but the "how" feels too overwhelming to consider. The light at the end of the tunnel feels so far out of reach & you question if you have the stamina, energy, or whatever it is that "those people" have to pursue it. You wish you could shut off that nagging, critical voice in your head and all the self-doubt and worry that comes with it. Maybe, at times, you feel as if the tug-of-war of thoughts and emotions is too messy and overwhelming to touch. You'd rather not "burden" others with your struggles, so you add it to your plate, along with everything else, exhausted.

I see a wide range of clients from many different backgrounds. I like to say that I work with "real" people who are struggling with "real" problems. Some of the areas I see on a regular basis include anxiety issues, marital/family problems, and college students. My approach to counseling is integrative and I tailor my sessions to the client and whatever they are struggling with. Often I take a cognitive behavioral approach, but also use other methods when I believe they will be effective.

I am Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee. My areas of focus include counseling for adolescents and adults experiencing trauma-related behaviors and symptoms, substance abuse disorders, anxiety, depression, parenting, and relationship issues. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Insight Gaining and Communication Couples Therapy, and the disease concept of addiction in my work.

You keep trying to get it together but it just seems like it is never enough. You lost your keys again for what seems to be the millionth time and can never seem to put them in the same spot. You get lost in thought and lose track of time and now you are late for work or school again. It's hard to focus or sit still long enough to complete one task. You have a lot of great ideas but just can't seem to make them happen. Sometimes you have a burst of energy and can get a lot done at once but that never seems to last. You wonder if maybe you are just lazy or stupid. It's depressing to think that life might always be this way.

The world we live in is full of opportunities to disconnect, avoid emotions, and escape reality. I believe that healing is often found through connection to people around us, connection to nature, and the ability to sit with both comfortable and uncomfortable emotions. In therapy, I work to create an authentic, non- judgmental, welcoming, and trustworthy environment through which healing and growth may occur. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is crucial to the success of counseling, and place great importance on it.

I work mostly with adolescents, couples and families. What they all have in common is a feeling of why is this happening to me? What do I do now? Is everyone doing better than I am? Is everyone managing so much easier than we are? Why is my marriage so difficult? Is parenting this hard for everyone? I know that life can be complicated, and it does not come with a manual. My goal is to work with clients to face and navigate their life so that they can gain perspective and grow. My love is working with clients so they can move through this world in such a way that they can be strong mentally and in healthy families and relationships.

Being able to talk openly and honestly about feelings is the foundation of therapy. A therapist is a supportive person who can listen to you and give you honest feedback in an emotionally safe space. Therapy is about getting a better understanding of yourself, your behavior, feelings, motivations, and patterns. When you come to therapy, I want you to feel comfortable coming in just as you are.

The suffering, the vulnerability, the anger and the fear are perfect opportunities to shine a light of awareness and begin healing. Many of us live this way, assuming that we will naturally have authentic, healing, and life-giving relationships with our spouses, our children, our parents, family members, and so on. However, connection with others is much like taking co-ownership of a garden. The richness of our garden experience is determined by our stewardship of it.
