I have been licensed as a Professional Counselor, State of Oklahoma, (LPC) for the past 17 years. I own the outpatient counseling office Center for Positive Change, Inc. in Yukon. We are CARF accredited, accept most major insurance as well as Sooner Care. I particularly enjoy working with women and their unique issues and concerns. I also have worked with children and families involved in special family situations, i.e., grief, divorce and DHS. My agency employs a variety of licensed therapists to meet the diverse needs of this community.

Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma. She is a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy Certified Practitioner and has attended numerous play therapy trainings. Although Amy has worked with many populations, she has an expertise and passion for working with children, teens, and their families to address emotional and behavioral disorders, divorce reaction, anxiety and depression, suicidal and homicidal ideation, parental alienation and family reunification. Amy conducts parenting and co-parenting classes on various topics. She also enjoys working with the college and young adult population.

I enjoy working with anyone who is struggling to understand themselves and their behavior. While we can not force someone else to change, changing how we react to others can often bring about change in the relationship. I see counseling as a journey. You are the driver and I am the passenger pointing out road signs. My job is not to judge but to make sure you are aware of your options and their consequences. I have enjoyed the private practice of outpatient mental health in Oklahoma and around the world with our military. In addition to a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Tulsa, I am a graduate of the Menninger's Institute Program for Community Practitioners of Marriage and Family Therapy. Working with couples who desire to save their marriage and with families struggling to succeed with adolescent challenges are some of my favorite areas of focus. My doctoral level research involved conducting a clinical trial investigating the effectiveness of the EMDR method.

I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been in clinical practice for over 40 years. I have been teaching and supervising graduate and postgraduate professionals, as well as maintaining an active full time professional practice. I am married, have 5 grown children and 7 grand children. Christian Family Institute serves all persons, but specializes in being sensitive to faith issues, combining those resources with the best science from the mental health disciplines.

It is my desire to join with you in seeking release of past struggles and looking to the future. I offer a non-judgmental approach to counseling with an emphasis on helpful vs. unhelpful thinking. I am excited to announce that I am now providing Neurofeedback for a wide variety of disorders. Neurofeedback is a way of training the brain to perform optimally. Neurofeedback is not counseling. A QEEG brain map will show the areas of the brain that could benefit from training.

I work with children, teens, and families. I also work with couples and individual adults. I use a family systems theoretical approach. I do play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and brief solution focused therapy. Outside of my private practice, I have been a school counselor, as well as, develop and lead social skills groups for kids.

My primary passion and area of focus is children of divorce, blended families, and healing marriages. I have been working within this area of interest professionally since 2010, with personal experiences of having a blended family since 2005. Then opening Anchor of Hope in 2018 to help other families. Treatment often includes both individual and family counseling with a focus on grief following a divorce, strengthening and healing biological family relationships, and understanding and encouraging the process of blending that often takes place through remarriage and other life transitions, such as new siblings, moving, etc.
