I operate through an existential and attachment-based lens.
Now accepting NEW clients with limited EVENING availability! Every person has a story that yearns to be told, to be seen and understood by someone else. You deserve to be able to tell your story in a place that feels safe. Trauma and relationship issues can leave an impact that lasts, affecting the relationships you are trying to grow and thrive in now. You are capable of healing and building a more secure attachment style that allows for strong and thriving relationships. I work with women as they navigate these issues, as they begin to rewrite the stories of relationships that they can have.

I use neurobiological and attachment-based relational theories in my practice and train in modern psychoanalytic interventions to help people notice and then integrate their thoughts, feelings/emotions, and body sensations.
If you feel like you are expected to “do it all” and carry more responsibilities than others in your life, and feel like you need a break, I may be able to help. Some people find that their personal relationships, either with friends, family, or co-workers, seem shallow, one-dimensional, or unequal. If you would like to improve your relationship with yourself and others, this may be something we can work on together. People may find themselves noticing that they keep engaging in relationships that wound them and wonder “is there something wrong with me?” We can answer that question together.

While healthy relationships are the ideal for many of us - be it fulfilling friendships, secure romantic relationships, or even a loving and positive relationship with ourselves - there are a variety of challenges we may face which make this reality seem out of reach for us. With this in mind, I aim to help clients heal from and move past these challenges by exploring areas with them such as: trauma and toxic relationship recovery, attachment-based wounds, self-esteem, boundaries, communication, and emotional regulation. A reality where you feel secure, loved, and accepted by yourself and in your relationships is possible indeed!

As a trauma-informed therapist and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Practitioner, I offer an attachment-based approach when working with adolescents, some who may have experienced complex developmental trauma.
My practice is guided by the belief that emotional healing is a journey leading to the discovery of one's innate strength and resilency. I offer to assist you in tapping into your inner resources by challenging the thinking patterns and behaviors that at times interfere with emotional well-being. My approach is strength-based and collaborative while adhering to the most evidenced-based treatment models. In our work together, I will provide you with scientifically studied tools. I practice mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT has been scientifically studied for over 50 years and demonstrated as very effective.

I help people turn their scars into beauty marks with the use of EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Parts & Inner Child Work, Mindfulness practices & other Attachment-Based Modalities.
You know that saying “Never judge a book by its cover”? Well, I can honestly say that the cover of my book does not match the pages! The pages in my book of life have equipped me with the experience to connect with ALL people. In my book, I’ve encountered many conflicts. I’ve been the antagonist and the protagonist and I’m just in the rising action. Because my pages are not all filled with butterflies and sunshine, I’ve had to work to find ways to help equip myself with daily coping skills. I am happy to be in a position to share my experience with others through therapy and educational opportunities.

I work from a relational, attachment-based perspective, helping clients create change through the recognition and dismantling of behavioral patterns that may be holding them back from living authentically.
Realizing our own needs for acceptance and validation can be hard, especially when we have not been taught to ask for them ourselves. If you feel like you are bursting at the seams with new ideas but don't know where to start or are feeling pressured by new life transitions or impending crises, therapy may be a helpful place to lay your cards on the table and decide the next step.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
