Thank you for inquiring about my services and treatment specialties. I have and continue to successfully assist many individuals, youth and elderly, couples, and families who are courageous enough to seek professional therapeutic counseling services. In my experience, I have learned that life will inevitably bring changes. Some of which are hard to cope with and endure. These times for many produce stress, anger, anxiety depression, and other mood disorders. I utilize evidence-based practices such as ad CBT and REBT to assist my clients in navigating through and overcoming these times.

Relationship struggles are my focus, and these may be considered alone or together. We can work to help you navigate high-stakes situations to strengthen your most intimate, important attachments. We all need to feel understood, and deserve to feel loved. Through a relational, systemic approach, we can explore and strengthen your connecting bonds and your place within them. Life is as much about how we tell our stories as it is the content of these narratives. Attachment is a key part of my work with romantic / sexual partners and families. Being newly seen and heard in more complete ways can be transformative and hope-inducing.

Working with a diverse client population is what keeps me going and motivated each day. I enjoy getting to know the lives of each of my clients and learning what make them tick. Each of us have so much to offer the world as well as each other and we sometimes lose sight of that. Since 1970 I have walked with many persons, couples and families who need supportive, fresh ears and eyes, a compassionate heart, wise experience and holistic perspective regarding life's challenges, transitions, burdens, growth points and life choices. I learn each one's story is unique and may offer the opportunity for new meaning and purpose. I seek to know and connect with each one I am honored and often blessed to serve at the core of who she or he is and not lose sight of that one's uniqueness midst the presenting depression, anxiety, grief, infidelity, identity clarification, trauma, worry, miscommunication and addiction.

We all face difficult challenges or situations that affect our way of life, who we are, and our social/family environments resulting in hurt, pain, depression, anxiety, feeling of grief/loss, and need to be validated and accepted. No one should go through these challenges alone as I meet you where you are in life's travels and assist you in navigating these difficulties with my years of experience and education. Dr. Boland has a general psychotherapy practice treating children, adolescents and adults . He has been in private practice since 1988 and specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Family Psychotherapy. Dr. Boland graduated Summa Cum Laude (top 2%) from the University of Northern Colorado in 1981 and received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 1987. He completed his psychology internship at the Medical College of Georgia and his postdoctoral supervision at G. Werber Bryan Psychiatric Hospital in Columbia, SC. He is licensed in South Carolina as a clinical psychologist.

Hello my name is Bogan Avery! I am a certified Licensed Professional Counselor, and am also Christian counselor. I have experienced working with a number of issues such as depression, anxiety, family issues, relational issues, anger management, self-harm, bi-polar disorder, and autism. I have received my training and Masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Harding University.
