Greetings! I am Keana Fairfax, LCSW, a doctoral candidate (2024). My Ideal clients may face challenges such as healing from trauma, including childhood sexual abuse or racial exclusion. Mental health issues like depression, anxiety, or PTSD may also exist. They require a safe space for healing, culturally competent support, and empowerment. Their goals may include processing repressed trauma, building confidence, developing coping and distraction strategies, improving emotional communication and trust, and relationship building. Tailoring care to these complex needs can pave the way toward a balanced and fulfilling life.

I work with people who are feeling stuck in life who want to feel more in control of their life, no matter what age they are, whether they are a young adult, in their mid life or deciding whether to retire or contintue to work in their later years.

An ideal client is someone who is self motivated and open to exploring their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in order to work towards healing themselves. I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Alicia is a New Jersey Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) compassionately devoted to providing a holistic, culturally sensitive, and empathetic environment for clients befriending their healing process. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton University, and her Master’s in School Counseling and Ed.S. in Professional Counseling from Seton Hall University.

Coming from a marriage and family therapy training background, I tend to view client issues from a systemic and trauma informed lens. I am passionate about helping you learn how to manage your current stressors, process past trauma and give you the tools you will need to lead a healthy and fulfilling life. In my journey becoming a counselor I have gained skill with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Some topics I am able to work on with clients are trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, identity issues, LGBTQAI, difficult transitions, and family issues. Along with talk therapy, I provide art therapy and will provide some play therapy techniques when appropriate. Clients can look forward to learning new skills and strategies, processing issues, and making changes when ready. I always make this a collaborative process with my clients and look forward to creating a plan and setting healthy goals with you.
