I look forward to working with clients whose life path may have created difficulties for them that has led them not be the best of who they can be. Each individual's path may have been sprinkled with physical or emotional abuse, neglect, assault, grief and loss, domestic violence, marital or parental discord or a myriad of other situations. Sometimes these life paths create in my clients a feeling of hopeless and loss of self-worth, sometimes these path end with someone needing to determine a plan to leave an unsafe living situation. Sometimes these paths lead to turning to substances and illegal drugs to cope with the internal turmoil and pain. It is my privlege to work with clients to help them identify and bring forth the best of who they are and what they want for their life, their family and their future through their own individual strengths.

I seek to work with both partners in the relationship to help each discover ways they can support one another. I believe when both partners feel safe and secure in the relationship that most problems that arise are able to be dealt with in a healthy manner.

I can provide counseling from a Christian perspective and also offer therapy from a non Christian focus. My practice centers on dealing with Life's issues in general while also having a focus on trauma. Not only is there a concentration on individuals, the scope of my practice also includes marriage and relationship counseling, family counseling, and even group therapy. Overall, I promote building self esteem and treating all clients with value and dignity no matter your background, lifestyle, culture or ethnicity. There is also a focus on helping clients overcome mistakes and poor choices. Finally, "Rapha" means "to heal."

The clients I serve are often at a crossroads in their life story and unsure of how to close one chapter and begin anew. Clients I enjoy working with recognize that counseling continues outside of the session in self reflection, exploring behavior change, and shifting how we think and relate to ourselves. I find that counseling helps meet goals and needs as diverse as the client, and sometimes goals arise throughout the course of the relationship. Finding a therapist can be hard, especially when you feel like no one really "gets" you. I'm hoping that's where I come in- I am a queer, autistic therapist passionate about working with other LGBTQIA+ and/or neurodivergent people that may struggle to find the right therapist for them, or who have felt unheard or invalidated by other mental health professionals. Currently, I am offering services to individuals age 12 and older, as well as families, couples, and diverse relationships.

Sometimes we have experiences that make us feel different, out of place, foreign and even unwelcome. Life can bring challenges, pain, and experiences that do not always make sense to us. I know that asking for help can be a difficult process especially when it comes to the mental health of your child. We have all had times in our lives when we and/or our kids needed extra support to be healthier. I am a Private Practice Therapist and a Registered Play Therapist (aka: I have a lot of training and experience counseling kids). I enjoy helping kids who struggle with attachment issues and/or have experienced trauma which is why I am trained in the two evidenced based trauma therapy treatments (TFCBT and EMDR) and in Theraplay Level 1 to grow relational attachment. Many of my clients are foster care or adopted kids.

I believe compassion and empathy create the foundation for clients to develop greater insight and self-awareness. My approach to therapy is collaborative working to resolve mental and emotion stressors that impede one's ability to achieve their goals. I work with clients to identify maladaptive communication patterns, resolve conflict, transition to a new stage in life or career, and foster each individual’s innate skills, knowledge, and growth.

I love to work with clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, who they are, and how they connect with the world. Society is a complicated thing, and it didn't come with a manual, but we can work together to to learn, or decide, what it will be for you. Clients who find themselves in my office may have concerns about their relationships, about whether or not they're worthy as people, about how their mind works, or might just have questions about what it means to be a person. I see adults, teenagers, individuals, and couples. Occasionally I run groups.
