I know that asking for help can be a difficult process especially when it comes to the mental health of your child. We have all had times in our lives when we and/or our kids needed extra support to be healthier. I am a Private Practice Therapist and a Registered Play Therapist (aka: I have a lot of training and experience counseling kids). I enjoy helping kids who struggle with attachment issues and/or have experienced trauma which is why I am trained in the two evidenced based trauma therapy treatments (TFCBT and EMDR) and in Theraplay Level 1 to grow relational attachment. Many of my clients are foster care or adopted kids.
I also see kids who struggle with emotional/behavioral issues including anger, depression, anxiety, grief, family and social concerns. I received my School Counseling Certification in 2010 from Lindenwood University and interned in two schools so I feel like I have a strong working knowledge of schools including classroom accommodations, IEP's, & 504's.
As the parent, you are the expert on your child so we will meet regularly to collaborate. I respect and admire the courage it takes to come to counseling! I am also available to supervise counselors for their RPT and/or LPC who work primarily with kids.
