Dr. Nikki Pond is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her M.Ed. in Prevention Science and Practice from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. She completed pre-doctoral training in assessment at National Jewish Health, as well as training in therapy and assessment for children with complex trauma, depression, and anxiety at Denver Children's Home. She completed an APA-accredited internship program in child and adolescent psychology at Denver Children's Home through the DU Graduate School of Professional Psychology Internship Consortium.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado, I have been providing mental health counseling to adolescents and adults for over five years. I work with clients via telehealth and in person, using a variety of evidence-based and creative interventions to address their needs and goals. I have a certificate in Equine-Assisted Mental Health from the University of Denver, and I operate out of a private horse property.

I have been in the counseling field for over 25 years. I have helped survivors of abuse and domestic violence, the LBGQT community, and adolescents. I primarily incorporate CBT but that is not the only theory I use. It depends on the needs of my clients. Recently I was trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma. ICurrently I’m only doing tele sessions. My clients range from adolescence to adult. Most of my current clients are experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma. My goal as a counselor is to help individuals reach their full potential to lead productive successful lives based on their needs and desires

I use integrative, holistic and evidence-based practices to help those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and trauma. I focus on the integration of somatic, or body-centered therapies to help someone heal both in their mind, and in their body. My hope is to help my clients experience change from the inside out. I also believe in facilitating a culturally sensitive space that rejects assumed beliefs about someone based on their size, shape, gender, race or ethnicity.

No matter the problem, I like to admonish and respect each person as an individual with their own set of ideals, beliefs and cultural values. I look forward to working with people from all backgrounds. In turn, each problem a person brings to the table is also unique and takes an eclectic approach based on the wider picture all the way to the details of whatever they are working on. I feel my job is to offer options to my clients with educated, research and experienced based information about the pros and cons of each choice. In this way I feel I can help people get unstuck and flourish in their life goals and dreams.

I specialize in supporting young adults, adults, and college students to compassionately navigate their inner world- working through things like anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors/transitions, self worth, identity, and relationships. I work collaboratively to support my clients in connecting to their emotions, understanding how experiences have shaped patterns of thinking and behaving, healing wounds of the past, finding effective coping strategies, and promoting self-acceptance to create meaningful change.

In therapy I focus on supporting individuals that have been affected by certain diagnoses, disabilities, or events to help them live their most healthy and authentic life. Having grown up with a brother with developmental disabilities, I believe that everyone has admirable qualities about them and that everyone has their own unique qualities and ways of processing the world. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, but am especially passionate about working with kids and teens.
