I am a trauma-informed provider who supports individuals and couples navigating grief/ loss, conflict, trauma and transition. I am passionate about supporting folks identifying as neurodiverse (eg. autistic, AuDH, diagnosed with ADHD, etc ). Clients I support often struggle with the impact of stories about who they "should be", questioning, "Do I matter?" or shedding pieces of themselves to create a sense of belonging. Understanding our stories is one of the bravest things we can do. Together we can explore yours, identify your values and strengths, and pursue healing and growth.

My clients are typically searching for answers and understanding. They want to be able to live their lives instead of being trapped by trying to survive.

Community Psychotherapy and Addiction Counseling
Common concerns in therapy include depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief/ loss, trauma, dealing with life transitions, addiction, and fear.
I believe that individuals have the capacity to understand and change the aspects of their lives that are unsatisfying. It is my belief that, oftentimes, individuals move through life operating on assumptions and expectations that may be out of their conscious awareness. Working through this "unfinished business" of one's past paves the way for more satisfying relationships and overall contentment in life.
I work with adults, children, and adolescents. I provide individual, couples, and group psychotherapy services, as well as psychological assessment.

I support clients in developing techniques to address overwhelm & anxiety, difficult life transitions and grief.
Do you struggle with feeling anxious and overwhelmed more often than you’d like? Is it affecting your ability to connect in relationships and work effectively? Maybe you feel frazzled and out-of-control, have experienced a significant loss or entered into a life change that feels challenging. Managing relationships, work, and life transitions (including adjustment to college, parenthood, menopause, divorce, etc), particularly in an ever-changing, often overstimulating world, might feel impossible but there are ways to work through these experiences and even use them to your advantage!

Relationship issues, sexual abuse and associated trauma, gay and lesbian concerns, and grief and loss continue to be major areas of focus.
Having been trained in a humanistic/holistic model of therapy (Experiential, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Family Systems), I have adhered to what is now called an “integrative” approach to mental health issues. Specifically, when I engage with a client we focus on the interaction of all the dimensions of his or her life, i.e., biological, psychological, social, behavioral, and spiritual. Subsequently, we embark on an exciting journey together to explore a path that leads to a more optimal state of well-being and a greater sense of wholeness.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
